I replaced all the parts on the back of the refrigerator (tube from valve, water fill assembly, and tube clamp). Ice cubes jamming or not dispensing? The stripper comb releases cubes from the ejector fingers during harvest. Moderate DIY, requires partial disassembly.
I am a retired commercial hvac professional so I know how icemakers work but don't know all the brands. Looked at 15 videos on general ice makers on the internet to get clues, and then I made a list of things I wanted: brand new solenoid fill valve, new cardboard backing for the rear that the delivery men broke up delivering the fridge, and a new plastic stripper plate because outboard tine was broken on mine. Next I changed my whole house water filter. (Don't want trash in lines) Then I... Read more

Plastic water tube that routes water between refrigerator components like the inlet valve, dispenser, and ice maker. Replace if cracked, brittle, or leaking.
I checked the water supply to the solenoid valve and it was okay, but no water was getting passed the valve. I checked the 115 vac signal from the ice maker to the valve and it was present. Unfortunately I did not know to depress the white fitting on the outlet of the valve to release the line to the ice maker so I cut it, and had to purchase a replacement. A new valve arrived from Appliance Part Pros and was installed as well as a new line and clamp. By this time some moisture had frozen in... Read more

Secures the evaporator fan assembly behind the rear freezer panel. Replace if cracked, rusted, or missing to restore proper fan mounting and clearance.
The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. Parts cost around... Read more
