Ordered a ge thermostat part . Took everything out of freezer , unscrewed panel and took the plate out. Used a hair dryer to defrost ice. Took out old part and installed new part. Everything is working just fine!!! Used a meter to test old/bad part and indeed it was dead. Read more

The auger gearbox shaft had a spot that was stripped of threads which prevented the auger drive from spinning the ice down the chute. Had to cut the old line at the water storage tank and attach the new one using the connector fitting from the kit.
