Unpluged dryer unscrewed vent hose used nut driver to remove back pannal then took flat head screw driver to bend tab on heating elment caseing and pry carefully the electrical conector away from elment conection to remove thermostat then i placed the new thermostat on tap and pushed elctrical conetion back onto heater element conection till everything was thight and didnt wiggle dryer works well now Read more

I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. The first part we ordered was the heating element. The dryer still wasn't heating so we ordered the thermostat. We received the thermostat, and got it put in the dryer still wasn't heating so I consulted my dryer manual and found out that even though there was electric to the dryer it still might not heat if the breaker was not all the way on, so I reset the breaker and voilà had heat. If I opened door and held door switch, started dryer, turned drum by hand, quickly closed door and pushed start again before drum stopped turning, dryer worked fine. Apparently the part of the motor that gives it more juice on start up went bad. Ordered motor on Monday, received on Wednesday. Blower wheel would not come off the shaft of old motor, chiseled off as shown in motor installation video. Apparently wheel becoming fused to motor shaft is a common problem based on all the comments.... Read more
