The dryer is 10 years old. I replaced all 4 roller wheels. While I had it apart I also replaced the drive belt and the idler pulley assembly. Once I had it apart I did find 2 wheels that were very worn, (1 front, 1 back) which is what I believe the problem was as they were also very hard to spin. Dryer works like new now. I replaced the probe which is a thermocouple. Naturally the connector was different from the one on the stove so I cut off the connector on the old probe and soldered it to the new probe. The cleaning of the wires and soldering them was the most time consuming activity of the repair. My wife just tried the stove and the oven temperature read exactly as the setting. Read more
This is a mounting bracket that holds the moisture sensor in place inside the dryer drum area. The moisture sensor detects how wet the clothes are and signals the dryer to stop when they are dry. Replace this holder if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can cause the moisture sensor to shift out of position and lead to clothes being over-dried or under-dried.
