Fix a washer that won't agitate or has broken fins. This agitator assembly snaps in place in under 5 minutes. Simple DIY repair, no tools required.
Ordered agitator. Removed old agitator by prying up one side of the agitator and then moving the agitator around in a circle while prying up a little at a time because the clips pop off underneath separately and once a few of them come loose the remaining slide off making a clean removal rather than the "jerking-straight-up-and-into-your-face-and-neck-disaster-waiting-to -happen removal". Cleaned salt buildup from using brand name household detergent for the last 4 months (currently in rental... Read more

Illuminates the dryer drum for better visibility when loading and unloading. Replace when bulb burns out or fails to light. Confirm fit with your model.
Originally the dryer was squeaking a lot, so I purchased a new belt tensioner, but the original tensioner was an old-style no wheel tensioner, so that wasn't the source of the squeaking. I saw a lot of lint had built up inside the unit where there shouldn't have been that much. So I viewed a few videos on the Appliance Pros site and saw that the rear wheel guides were the cause of the squeaking and the rear felt drum and blower housing seal needed to be replaced. The rear blower housing was... Read more
Replace your top-load washer drive belt when you hear squealing, see the drum not spinning, or notice wear. Connects motor to drum for wash cycles. Verify fit with your model number.
After researching the problem on this site, I realized that the most likely cause was a bad bearing contained in the shaft & tube assembly. Essentially, the tub seal failed & allowed water to travel down the shaft & into the housing containing the bearing. I confirmed this by pulling the front cover off of the unit & noticed some brown water pooled directly under the shaft & tube assembly. I followed the disassembly instructions on this site & it wasn't too bad but did take some time as pretty... Read more
Replaces broken or worn tub dampening straps that stabilize your washer's inner tub during operation. Restores proper suspension to reduce vibration.
My 9-year-old GE washer, in which I replaced the motor two years ago, developed an extremely loud roaring sound during the spin cycle. After reviewing stories here to pinpoint the problem, I replaced the tub bearing, mode shifter, and tub seal. I also installed a new tub nut, split washer, and belt. This repair involves taking the washer apart in order to get at the tub bearing and mode shifter, which are inconveniently located in the very center of the machine. I bagged labeled all the... Ice maker stopped making ice or won't eject cubes? A failed motor module is often the cause. DIY repair in under an hour with our video guide.
After finding out the cost that we would have to pay for the repair locally, I went to Appliance parts pro.com. with the intention of finding out the cost for parts. We had been quoted $100 for the first hour which included repair if it could be done under the first hour plus parts. And they added that the typical repair for the ice maker was between $200 and $500. Fortunately we are very organized and had the original paperwork of the refrigerator which has all parts and numbers for the... Read more

Symptoms of a bad Washer Agitator Coupler include:
Causes of a bad agitator coupler can include wear and tear from regular use, excessive load sizes that strain the agitator, or material fatigue that weakens the coupler over time.
This OEM replacement part is essential for restoring proper functionality to your GE washing machine and is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
OMG.. I was so excited when I found a simple YOUTUBE video showing me how to fix this agitator myself.. and it was SO SIMPLE! The MEN I know, told me I would need to buy a new machine! I did a simple search for GE AGITATOR REPAIR.. found the video, then did my search for the replacement part - an agitator coupling, which, of course, I found at AppliancePartsPros.com... they shipped it to me within 2 days! And the minute it arrived, I went into my laundry room, and completed my OWN repair in... Read more
The Hub Nut is an OEM part for GE washing machines. This component secures the inner tub to the drive mechanism, ensuring that it remains in place during the agitation and spinning cycles. Symptoms of a bad Hub Nut include:
Causes of a bad hub nut can include corrosion due to exposure to water and detergent, improper initial installation, or loosening over time from the vibration and movement of the washing machine.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
I had never worked on a washing machine before but after watching the online videos I felt like I could do the repair. I was almost positive it was the Mode Shifter and Shaft Assembly that was bad. I could hear the bearing making a grinding noise when I turned the tub by hand. I ordered the part I needed plus additional parts that could be an issue later such as a drive belt, tub bearing, tub seal, tub nut, split ring, etc; Preventive maintenance that would keep from having to tear it all... Guides ice from the bucket through the dispenser chute. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to prevent ice jams and ensure smooth dispensing.
Ice Door Kit, Control Bracket, and Ice Dispenser Guide were purchased. I followed two videos on replacing the parts. The Control Bracket WP2180226 / AP6005965, was straight forward and I discovered a snapped pin on the old bracket causing an electric switch to be out of place... that repair was easy. When it came to the hinges of the ice chute, I discovered the snap-in, on right side, of the hinge was cracked... this is why the pin escaped. This cracked part is molded into the entire... Read more
Washer won't drain or leaves clothes soaking wet? This drain pump removes water from the tub after each cycle. Typical DIY repair takes 20-30 minutes.
I ordered a new pump on this website. They provided me with written directions as well as a video to follow along with on how to change the pump. As always it wasn't as easy as the video, but that was the mechanic no the tool! Great job on the service. Will order parts from here again. Read more

Ordered new transmission, nut, split washer and spanner wrench to do the install. very straight forward fix after watching the video. spanner wrench is a must or the correct large socket with an impact driver. it was corroded on pretty well let the liquid wrench work for a while and then beat it off. approximately 2 hours to do to fix, spent some time cleaning stuff up also though. washer was 12 years old and debated scrapping it and getting a new one but then it would not match the dryer. ... Fix a refrigerator water or ice dispenser that won't activate or keeps running continuously. This micro switch controls dispenser operation. DIY-friendly.
I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video and decided to remove the front panel to diagnose the problem. While the repair video is excellent, I could not remove the ice/water dispenser front panel with a putty knife. On my model, 106.56234400, there is no clip that can be released by sliding a putty knife up under the front panel. It took a little effort but I was able to pop the left lower corner clip just by pulling it out with my fingers. Once the cover was off I could see that the... Read more

Loud noise or freezer warming up? This evaporator fan blade circulates cold air over coils. Simple DIY fix—most repairs done in under an hour.
The fridge is 20+ years old in a home we recently moved into. It sounded like a motor getting stuck on something or grinding weird... was hoping it wasn't something more serious. Found this site, clicked 'noisy' and got the replacement evaporator fan motor blade as well as the motor evaporator. Turned out I didn't really need to replace the fan blade, but since I had it and ours was old, figured I might as well put in the new parts. Followed the videos here, which were really helpful. Hub washer fits between the transmission and inner tub in top-load washers. Replace if cracked, worn, or causing leaks during operation.
Refrigerator freezing food or not cooling? This temperature control thermostat regulates cooling cycles. DIY-friendly repair, takes 10-20 minutes.
First I thought it was the defrost timer (talking to a friend). Replaced as $30+ dollar part and cheaper than a service call. Unfortunately, that did not help. Did some google searches and came across ApplicancePartsPros.com. They had a ton of useful information from chat availability to videos. Through the chat, we determined most likely it was the thermostat. I ordered it with expedited shipping and it shipped the same day and arrived earlier than expected. However, the part looked...
