The Top Load Washer Coupling Assembly is an OEM component specifically designed for LG brand top-loading washing machines. This assembly connects the agitator shaft to the transmission inside the washer, allowing oscillating motions to be transferred through the transmission from the motor.
Symptoms include:
Causes of a bad coupling assembly can include material failure from ongoing vibration exposure, loosened connection points allowing unwanted play, or cracks/breaks due to heavy impacts.
Secures the stator to the motor assembly in your washer. Replace if bolt is stripped, spinning freely, or missing to restore proper motor stability.
I originally thought the washer had a bad bearing, but once I got it disassembled it the spider arms were broken. This required the replacement of the tub assembly. With help from appliance parts pros video, I was able to remove and replace the bearing/clutch assembly. While I had the assemble removed I remove the water pump cleaned and replaced it. The hoses were good and I did not need to replace them however I did not properly apply the hose clamp to the tub and it separated when I was ready to start it again.
