Fix F2 error codes and inaccurate oven temperatures by replacing a faulty temperature sensor. Simple 15-minute DIY repair with basic tools.
My mother's GE range was not coming up to full heat (very far from it), and I was hearing a lot of relay-clicking coming from the control board. The heating elements seemed good. I suspected the control board was faulty, but there was a chance that it might be the (*much* less expensive) temperature sensor, so I ordered both from AppliancePartsPros.com (which got the parts to me very fast) so I could try the T-sensor first. After removing the doors and the back panel of the oven, and taking out... Read more

Ranges, wall ovens, and microwaves require a hub blade assembly in order to operate efficiently. The hub blade works inside the device to help with the various heating cycles. With use, because of misuse, or as a result of accidental damage, the hub blade may stop working. When this component is no longer functioning, a replacement part is required. If the oven isn't warming correctly, the hub blade assembly may be the issue.Replacing the hub blade assembly is a simple process. A screwdriver, socket set, adjustable wrench, and wrench set are required. Always disconnect appliances before replacing components. Wear gloves for safety. The hub blade assembly is located inside the oven. To access it, the back of the appliance has to be removed. The oven was so loud, it was hard to talk to someone in the kitchen. We replaced the motor and the fan blade. 1. Turn off power to the oven. 2. Remove the oven doors 3. Remove the cover for the fan. 4. Turn the fan blade nut clockwise to loosen( it's opposite of normal) - Save the nut and the small clip that is behind the fan as you'll need them again. 5. Remove the screws that hold oven to the kitchen cabinet frame. 6. Slide oven out of kitchen cabinet and place on the floor - it takes 2... Read more
10-32 machine screw secures panels, brackets, door hinges, and handles in ovens and ranges. Replace missing, stripped, or broken screws for tight fit.
All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years. The hinges are attached to that inside panel, so the stress points were bent over time. I replaced the inside steel panel. Took about an hour. Was able... Read more

This is a genuine OEM replacement nut that is used on convection oven fans. This nut holds the fan onto the spindle. If the nut becomes lost during repairs to the fan, it will need to be replaced before the fan will work. This nut locks the fan to the spindle to turn and move the air around inside the oven. The fan helps the food to cook more evenly and reduces areas in the oven that are not cool enough or hot enough. If the fan is not working, the convection oven will not cook correctly.Convection ovens are different from regular ovens, and the fan is part of the reason. Convection ovens use the fan and an exhaust system to move the heat around inside the oven to cook food more evenly and faster. Many convection ovens have a setting that allows the oven to be used as a regular oven. If the nut is missing and the fan is inoperable, the oven can be used for regular cooking if it has this feature. Otherwise, the convection oven should not be used until the nut is replaced. This nut is a silver metal replacement part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in convection ovens made by GE and Kenmore.
I took the cover off and the fan had separated from the bushing. Ordered a new fan and nut and it took all of 5 minutes to replace. Probably saved $159.99 service call repair and that is with a coupon. Any one can do this repair, just make sure the oven is cold as you will come in contact with metal parts. Read more
