Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My 6" stove top burner did not work on my old ge electric range   Gregory S. • Bridgepor , CT • December 21, 2014

Going on line and viewing your website, you provided a very easy way to get me to a picture that was exactly what I wanted with the exact (old style) connections. I had previously gone to Home Depot twice, and I still did not get the correct burner that I needed. Your website was great, I should have gone there first. I used the part that I received from AppliancePartsPROS.com and replaced the defective, old and non-working surface element. It was easy, I used a screw driver to snap off a... Read more

Oven Bake Element
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP7406P272-60

Oven not heating or element burned out? This lower bake element restores bottom heat for even baking. Easy 5-minute DIY repair with basic tools.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Element burned out   James W. • Round Hill , VA • April 15, 2017

It only takes a screwdriver for this repair. Remove the two screws holding the old element, pull it out of the housing, making sure the wires attached to the element do not fall back into the housing when you unclip them. Once you reattach the wires, simply replace the two screws and the job is done. I could not reuse the old screws though since the old ones did not hold the tight (unit is 20 years old and they were simply stripped). I simply increased the thickness of the screws and the new... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burner intermittnet socket/burner connection compromised ie charred melted corroded   John K. • Dunnellon , FL • January 11, 2015

Replace burner and receptacle. The product arrived promptly after order and the receptacle came in a factory Whirlpool bag, indicating it was a genuine Whirlpool part. The burner did not have such identification, but works very good. I've placed 3 orders with these folks for various broken appliances, and each one has worked as advertised and performs like new. Fix a burner that won't heat with this 8-inch range surface element. Direct replacement for 3-wire cooktop heating coils. Moderate DIY, 30-40 min install.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dead 1970s GE stove heating elements   Kevin N. • Oakland , CA • August 09, 2019

Ordering the right part is the key. This is the element with 3 wire connectors NOT the usual kind with 2 prongs that slide in. Thank goodness this company carries these elements for old GE built-in stoves. I'm not super handy but replaced two in about 40 min. Make sure you save the old ceramic clamps. The three prongs of the element with connected wires need to fit completely in the ceramic grooves so the two sides can be clamped together. The new element comes with everything you need but... Ignitor
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 139013700

The Ignitor is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ranges. Located near the burner heads, this component is responsible for generating the electric spark required to light stove top burners.

Symptoms of a faulty ignitor include:

  • Burners that will not light or only light intermittently
  • Clicking noises but no flame ignition
  • Diminished or no spark from the ignitor itself

Causes of ignitor failure can be an accumulation of deposits over many heating cycles. Physical damage from pots/pans is also possible. As electrical parts, ignitors have a limited lifespan depending on range usage.

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Gas oven inginiter needed replacing   Keith P. • Cambridge , VT • January 20, 2017

Removed the bottom tin work in the oven and removed the burner tube. Tried to remove the igniter bracket but the screws were too tight for the Phillips head and couldn't get vice grips to clamp on the head, so I bent the bracket enough to remove and replace the igniter. Then reassembled. I give AppliancePros.com a 5 star rating. Site was easy to use, the part was delivered in under 2 days, and it was the correct part packaged carefully so the igniter was protected from breaking. Read more

Oven Igniter
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11590294

This oven igniter lights the gas burner when the control calls for heat, restoring reliable ignition and consistent baking performance. Replace it if the oven won't light, preheats slowly, or the flame won't stay on. What it does:

  • Provides the ignition source for the oven's gas burner during bake cycles
  • A weak or failed igniter can cause no heat/no bake or intermittent ignition
  • Can contribute to extended preheat times and burners that light then go out
  • Visible cracks, burned spots, or damaged leads on the igniter are common failure signs
What's included:
  • One oven igniter
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off gas before servicing
  • Allow components to cool; handle the igniter's ceramic/element carefully to avoid damage
  • Install in the original position; correct placement relative to the burner is critical
  • After reassembly, restore utilities and test for proper ignition; leak-check any disturbed gas fittings

Easy fix. Both elements replaced while I was at it, so all new. Figured if one went the other was going to follow. CIRCUIT BREAKER OFF. Removed the back metal panel with my nut driver for the hex head screws. Note where the panel may slip under tabs for support. Remove slip on electrical connections on upper and lower elements. Igniter And Bracket Assembly
Genuine Speed Queen part
By: Speed Queen
Part Number: D510184P

This is an igniter and bracket assembly, and it is intended for use in dryers. This is a genuine replacement part made by Speed Queen. The igniter is connected to the dryer on the back of the appliance, and it is used to heat the drying tub. A new igniter and bracket assembly might be needed if the dryer is unable to reach the correct temperature. Be sure the dryer is completely powered down and cooled before attempting to repair. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer, and it is sold individually. It is compatible with Dryers made by Speed Queen.
