Main Control Panel Parts

After 8 years of yanking to open our Bosch dishwasher (SHE45M06UC/50 model #) the plastic front panel cover started to break off (one of the tabs on the left side broke off). The shipping was super-fast, so got the part within 2 business days. Just need to remove the lower Torx screws (3 on each side) which hold the lower front panel to the dishwasher to get access to the screws holding on the control panel, swap the buttons and silver handle, and replace. I replaced the Timer knob components. Removing the cover that contains the Timer was simpler than I anticipated. Just remove the screws on the top of the back of the machine. Hold the cover and lift up and push to the left (facing the front of the washer). Removed the Timer Knob Clip with small needle-nose pliers. Grasped the Timer and turned counterclockwise to remove and unplugged the wiring clip. The timer is seated to the cover and held securely in place with one screw. I seated the new... Read more

I googled the error code and symptoms my oven was exhibiting to determine the solution and which parts to order. I needed a new control panel and chose also to replace the overlay that shows on the front of the stove. I could have reused the old one because I turned out to be able to remove it without damaging it. I just kept it in case I damage the new one in the future. After some simple troubleshooting, determined that it was likely the (rear) main control board. Once the new board arrived, it was installed in 5-10 minutes once the refrigerator was pulled out from the wall and the area cleaned up a bit. The repair guy was going to charge me upwards of $225 to replace the timer in my washer, if in fact it was the timer. I decided with Christmas just a month away that there had to be a better way.
