Thanks to the excellent videos along with my experience as an aircraft component mechanic, I was able to replace the a number of major parts, including the armature, field assembly, brushes and 3 gears. Took my time, got it back together and set the motor speed on the first try. I'm very happy, because now my wife is very happy too. She's had that mixer for over 30 years, and now it runs like new. It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. Replaced Speed control plate. The contact points were pitted and burnt and not making good contact. I also replaced the agitator shaft, as it was slightly worn, and thought I would get the spring along with it as it was shown in the part image, but did not come with it. Replacing the trim takes a little bit of alignment and light force. The trim slides over the glass panel of the door, with the glass sliding into plastic tabs. We kept the door nearly vertical (almost closed), lined up the tabs on the trim with the glass door, and used mild force to slide the trim down onto the glass door.
