Dryer not heating Jeffrey F. • Apex , NC • September 16, 2017
Our dryer seemed to be taking a long time to dry, often needing a couple cycles to complete the job. Then one day it stopped heating at all. After watching a couple videos and testing with a multimeter I figured out not only the thermristor had blown (can happen due to bad airflow) but also half the heating element was shot. I ordered both parts for overnight delivery and received them at noon the next day. Replacement was easy and the dryer is good again.
Side note: After the repair was...

Soap tray on dishwasher did not open during the wash cycle Michael H. • Marietta , GA • February 15, 2015
I found the videos on dishwasher repair that AppliancePartsPros offers and determined the likely cause of the problem. I removed the door cover and found soap caked on the back. I cleaned the cover and switched the wax motors to see if the clean rinse motor was good and ran a tested cycle. No improvement. I ordered two new wax motors for the Maytag dishwasher and those arrived in a few days from AppliancePartsPros. I replaced the old motors and ran a test cycle. The soap tray opened correctly....

Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 134786110
This moisture sensor monitors dampness inside the dryer drum and signals the control when fabrics are dry, helping automatic cycles end on time and avoid overdrying. Replacing a failed sensor can restore consistent Auto Dry performance and cycle times. What it does:
- Detects moisture level via conductivity across the sensor surfaces inside the drum
- Sends feedback to the control so Auto Dry cycles advance and stop correctly
- Helps prevent overdrying and underdrying in sensor-based cycles
- Common symptoms of a faulty sensor may include: auto cycles ending too soon or running too long, clothes remaining damp, or the dryer staying on "Sensing" while timed cycles still work
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and, if applicable, shut off gas before servicing
- Access the sensor at the front bulkhead/lint housing area; remove front panel as needed per model
- Transfer connectors and route wiring exactly as original; secure the sensor firmly
- Clean the sensor contact surfaces with rubbing alcohol; residue from dryer sheets or fabric softeners can affect readings

Clothes got stuck on moisture sensor bar and broke it off Felix M. • Kyle , TX • April 17, 2015
Fixed it in 5minutes.
One end has a Phillips head screw and the other has a tab with to metal leads for wires. The end with the tab broke. I removed the screw for the other end abd the sensor bar came off. To put the new piece on, I connected the wires to the leads, slid the tab end into place on the drum and screwed in the other end. Done! Easy!

It was taking unusually long to dry a typical load Robert L. • Williamsburg , VA • November 15, 2014
I removed the front panel and observed the heating element while running the dryer. It was cycling off every minute or so and staying off for several minutes. Even though it was likely the high temp cycling thermostat I replaced both the 14, and 15 cycling thermostats which I think are the original factory units. That makes them nearly 35 years old. Problem fixed.

Genuine Speed Queen part
By: Speed Queen
Part Number: D510213
This sensor monitors operating conditions and relays accurate feedback to the control so cycles run properly. Replacing a failed sensor helps restore correct operation and prevent erratic behavior or fault codes. What it does:
- Detects a specific operating condition and sends a signal to the control

What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power (and shut off gas/water, if applicable) before servicing
- Access the sensor; note wire positions and connector orientation

This replacement moisture sensor bar mounts inside the drum and helps the dryer detect when laundry is dry. A worn or damaged bar can cause sensor-dry cycles to end too soon or run too long.
- Senses moisture on fabrics and signals the control to advance or extend auto-dry cycles

- Symptoms can include auto-dry cycles ending early, extended run times, or inconsistent dryness
- Build-up on the bars can also affect sensing performance
What's included: 1 moisture sensor bar Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; shut off gas supply for gas dryers
- Access the sensor at the front bulkhead/lint housing; move wire leads to the new bar and secure with existing hardware
- Clean any residue from both sensor bars to improve accuracy

Fix dispenser door that won't latch or leaks at the door bottom. This grommet and latch kit stops water leaks. Requires inner door panel removal.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Dishwasher was leaking from underneath the front door Don G. • Crystal Lake , IL • June 04, 2014
The grommet was old and very caked with old dishwasher scum. So water was leaking through where the soap door latch goes into the door. I replaced the rubber grommet (and the plastic latch that came with the kit, even though the old one was probably fine). Fit perfectly and looked just like the old one. Works like a champ, no leaking!
