After having intermittent issues with Error Code 01 on our Electrolux dishwasher for several years - the dishwasher started having the code on a more frequent basis. Removed the 4 Torx (T-20) screws to remove the bottom tray, loosened the 2 steel adjustable hose clamps and disconnected the hoses from the old pump. Removed the 2 Torx screws from the drain pump mounting bracket and the 2 that mount the pump to the bracket. Discarded the old pump, reversed the above process for installating the new pump and the dishwasher is functioning normally again. All in well under 30 mins. Read more

At first, I felt there was a problem with the drain hose. Possibly water would not completely drain out due to a poor routing of the drain hose. It seemed fine - I ensured that I had a 32-ince rise and then a good down hill route to the drain. My drain hose does not drain into the garbage disposal. Told him I have electrical engineering experience, used to fix pinball machines and that the pinballs and home appliances were the same design, i.e. inductor in series with a switch across the hot lines. Upon opening the front cover of my GE washing machine, I found the water pump/brake was not spinning as it should when the drain/spin cycle was starting. I suspected that the pump/brake was the cause of the problem. I tried to turn the flywheel of the pump by hand and found it tight and somewhat difficult to turn. The dishwasher would fill with water, and then was silent (during the time you'd expect to hear it washing. Cancel/draining worked fine too. I assumed it was the pump/motor that had failed. Ordered a replacement. Had to tip washer toward the back to provide access underneath to the pump. Had some difficulty removing the two hose clamps. Pliers were not the best tool. Had to ensure the drive belt was properly engaged with the pulley of the pump. Read more
