Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. Heater defroster part number AP5982425. I have GE model GTE16DTHCRBB. I found a Youtube video of a repair of a similar model. Getting the heater defroster out was not a piece of cake because you can not see the mounting due to it being behind the coils, same is true for reinstalling the new. There is a strap on top of the heater defroster that has to be connected to the heater defroster before being reinstalled. Unfortunately my first repair attempt (replacing the Gas Valve Coils) failed so I decided to replace the entire Burner assembly. From a cost/time point of view the Burner assembly is a better value than just buying the Gas Valve seeing as you don't have to disassemble/reassemble most of the existing Burner (to get to the Gas Valve) *and* you get a new Igniter!! Turned off breaker to oven, took pictures of existing broil, supporting bracket and shield attached to oven, removed screws holding element, support piece and shield, removed bracket and shield, pulled out the element, took another close-up picture of the wires connected to element, removed wires, connected new element, turned breaker on to see if connection is correct, turned it off, installed element, shield and support bracket (in this order). It was a simple process to enter the model number of our glass cook top stove; learn the part number required and order. It arrived in 2-days -- least expensive shipping method. The cooktop was removed with a Phillips-head screwdriver by 4 small sheet metal screws on the right and left side of the oven. The oven's power to the cooktop was easily disconnected via two "clips" and one ground. Would have cost way more with an appliance repair shop and it's an easy do-it-yourself repair. Read more

I wanted to get the upper oven baking element replaced; it hasn't been working for a few months. This double oven has had two other issues, there is a fan that comes on to cool the electronics panel, That fan has made excessive noise and it operates for 2-3 hours after the oven turns off. Removing cabinet panels to access burner was the major challenge since every one seems to be different. This one, two screws at back allowed top to raise and be removed, Two more screws at front and two cables disconnected removed control panel. The door panel was not quite as obvious, The two screws at top sides and two at very bottom edge were removed. Then by trial, I removed screws around door edge until panel was loose. With the help of Wendee and Karen, we finally figured out my model numbers and which parts where correct. I ordered the parts and all arrived the next day except for the Broiler element which arrived in 2 days. I installed the new Baking Element myself. Took longer to figure out which curcuit braker to turn off. In about 30 minutes I had a brand new Baking Element in my oven working perfectly. On the following day, I installed the Broiler Element.
