Dishwasher won't start, stops mid-cycle, or shows error codes? This electronic control board manages all cycles and functions. Moderate DIY repair.
All of the repairs were incredibly easy, however the experience might be different for everyone. My skills and background experience make troubleshooting and repairing fairly easy for me. I began the journey by troubleshooting out some of the peripherals such as the float mechanism and door latch switch by using a multimeter to ohm them out. I then moved towards the thermostat and turbinator. I measured the resistance on the thermostat and it seemed to be fine. I then cleaned the turbinator... Read more

Fix an oven that won't heat or bake element not working. This relay control board receives signals from the main control board. DIY repair under 1 hour.
Andrew helped me trouble shoot the problem. First I replaced the elments but that did not fix the problem. When I spoke with Andrew he told me how to test the OHMS on the new and old element and they were both readying 26 OHMS. I then replaced the control panel for the clock and oven controls. This did not fix the problem. The next step was to replace the relay boards. We placed numbers on the wires (~30) to avoid confusion. Taking notes also helped. Replacing both relay swithces took... This is a Whirlpool range control board. It manages and monitors temperatures for the range and features a digital display and user interface buttons. The control board can short out due to power surge or exposure to excessive heat. For example, if the oven's self clean function is run too long or too frequently, parts of the control board could melt or otherwise malfunction. Before installing this part, be sure to cut power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely. The stove may need to be pulled away from the wall to access the screws holding the control panel in place. Remove the screws from each side of the control panel to gain access to the old control board. Disconnect any wire harnesses connected to it and remove any screws mounting it in place before installing the new part. This is a genuine OEM part compatible with ranges manufactured by Whirlpool brands, including Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and others. This product is just the panel and contains no additional parts or hardware.

My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. We carefully looked at how the old parts were assembled and simply reversed the assembly with the new parts. Since one of our parts was the entire front head, it went together quickly and it was a perfect... Read more
