Thermistor
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 241608401

The Thermistor is an OEM Replacement Part that maintains the temperature inside your Frigidaire refrigerator. This thermistor handles reading the internal temperature. After reading, it transmits this information to the control system. At a temperature of 29 degrees, the thermistor should exhibit a resistance of about 35k ohms. While at room temperature, it should read approximately 5k ohms.

Causes of a bad thermistor can include regular wear and tear, exposure to moisture, or electrical issues. Over time, the thermistor may become less accurate or stop working altogether.

Symptoms of a bad thermistor include:

  • Inconsistent or incorrect temperature readings
  • The refrigerator being too warm or too cold
  • The cooling system running continuously or not at all
  • Error codes related to temperature control

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice build up in top freezer of refrigerator   Kevin S. • Mission Viejo , CA • May 13, 2015

After watching numerous videos I was able to discern that the problem was with one of the following: the timer, the heater, or the thermostat. a short time check showed me that the timer was working so that narrowed it down to the other two. Not having the necessary tools to check those two I ordered both parts. Once the parts came and I took out the old parts it was quite evident that it was the heater since it had black burn marks on it. I decided to install the thermostat also since it... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave would not microwave   Richard E. • Cape Coral , FL • January 05, 2020

Replaced the Humidity sensor, Thermistor and door switches. I replaced these thinking the problem was one of the items but didn't want to trial and error one part at a time. Plus the cost was reasonable so if these didn't help I wasn't out a lot of money. I sense the door switch was the problem. Replaced all items and the microwave works great. Thanks for the advice and the cost of the parts. Read more
