Removed freezer door by removing 4 bolts holding slide tracks for freezer basket. Pulled out old gasket. Soaked new gasket in hot water to smooth out a crease that resulted from shipping. Installed new gasket, starting at corners. Used a blunt tool to push new gasket into slot at the corners. Set remaining gasket material with hands. Used putty knife to tuck edge of gasket under lip along door. Reinstalled door. Take care to line up door perpendicularly. There is some play when...

Leaking. Steve M. • Shakopee , MN • April 28, 2020
Upon taking the door apart it looked like the leak was coming from the vent so I replaced the vent cap, vent seal and the transition piece. I did not have to change the seals.
It took me a while to figure out how to get the door apart, but once I did, it was fairly straightforward.

Water emptied out under the door of my 24 yr old GE dishwasher on to the floor. Andrea B. • Harrisburg , PA • September 22, 2018
After researching on the APP site, I decided what I thought I would need and purchased a new Gasket, Gasket Insert, Left & Right Corner Baffles from APP. The parts were shipped immediately. However, I’m an 80 yr. old female so I procrastinated for almost 6 weeks before deciding to 'tackle' the repair myself rather than hiring an appliance repair person or "handyman".
I went back into the AppliancePartsPros site and reviewed the wonderful videos related to the repair since Matt had made it...

Door gasket was deteriorating leaving black marks on anything that touched it. Janice C. • Piney Flats , TN • August 26, 2023
We replaced the black door seal gasket around the front of the dishwasher. The old black seal gasket had begun to deteriorate, every time it was touched black stuff would rub off onto hands and onto utensils in the upper basket. We wore some disposable gloves to remove the old seal to avoid getting the black stuff on our hands. Before entirely removing the old seal gasket we studied its placement to tell which way the new seal gasket should be placed. We didn’t want to place the seal gasket...

21 month old Frigidaire upright freezer died. John P. • Enola , PA • August 02, 2019
Noticed Rolls on the top shelf no longer frozen, though the meat around it still was. Note: This is a good test, keep something that thaws quickly and is not expensive on top shelf, to act as a barometer for your freezer health!
I first found a trip online to advance the defrost timer, as a failed timer is a common issue. I advanced the timer, but nothing happened. I emptied the freezer, then removed the thermostat and tested it. No continuity! With the Freezer continuing to thaw, I...

Due to bad door seal ice built up in bottom of freezer water then leaking out Christopher K. • Alexandria , VA • July 19, 2016
Door gasket was easy to remove and reinstall. Original gasket was penetrated while cleaning food stuff from folds in the seal below the frig doors. (Gasket is very fragile so don't try to expand the folds while cleaning. I used my finger and a paper towel but in hindsight should have used a Q-Tip. Also, when installing the new gasket you have to be sure the seam folds over the edge of the door and doesn't get caught underneath.

Thermal fuse failure. John O. • Parma , OH • February 14, 2017
After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear. I did, however, find that the drum had some up and down play in it. After closer inspection, I could see that the front drum seal was actually worn to the point that I could see a gap between the seal and the drum. I figured that the gap in the seal was letting air in and not letting sufficient air flow through the...

Leaking from the bottom of the tub door Joseph P. • Palmyra , PA • April 10, 2015
The dishwasher is 4 years old, so I figured since it was leaking from the bottom, replacing the Tub Gasket PN: AP5690109, Splash Shield Kit PN: AP4338941 , and the bottom Door Seal/Gasket PN: AP5809675 was a good idea; the machine probably has around 1200 cycles in 4 years. There's no telling how much the door had opened and closed!? The bottom Door Seal/Gasket was badly worn, and the entire job took me around 30 minutes which included the detailed cleaning of the mating flanges. Take your...

Our washer wouldn't rinse spin or drain Jan C. • Somerville , MA • April 23, 2015
My son was doing his laundry, only to announce that the washer wouldn't rinse, spin or drain. I looked on line at new washers and was staggered to see how much they cost, our Whirlpool is 20 years old! Then I looked on Craig's list to see about getting a used washer, but when I found something that looked good, and looked up how it performed, most of them had terrible reviews. So, I looked at a video that told about the 5 most common things to go wrong and figured out it was a broken lid...
