Warm fridge freezer not defrosting. Jason L. • Penfield , NY • July 06, 2020
IMPORTANT: Defrost heater was more difficult to install around the evaporator coils than the APP installation videos show, but it can be installed. See below.
FIRST: Unplug the fridge/freezer!
I tested the thermostat, mechanical defrost timer, and the defrost heater with a ohmmeter and determined that the heater was bad.
NOTE: Thermostat must be cold in order to be tested; otherwise, the switch inside won't close and you won't get a reading from the ohmmeter. Take a can of compressed air,...

Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB30T10112
Restore a large burner on your glass cooktop with this 12-inch Haliant surface element. Mounted beneath the glass, it delivers fast, even radiant heat for big pots and pans and replaces a burner that no longer heats reliably.
- Provides radiant heat to a 12-inch cooking zone beneath the glass surface
- Replaces a failed element that is open, cracked, or burned out
- Typical symptoms: surface burner won't heat or glow, heats unevenly, or works intermittently
- Helps restore consistent heating and proper cycling through the surface controls
What's included: One 12-inch Haliant surface element assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing; high voltage is present
- Allow the cooktop to cool completely; handle the element carefully—it's fragile
- Lift the cooktop to access the elements; move wires from the old element to the new one one at a time to match positions
- Ensure the element is centered and secured in the mounting clips before reassembly and testing

Stove top element broke and which then caused the light that says the element is on to stay on even when it was off Catherine P. • Eagle , NE • September 05, 2016
I got online to research what the problem could be and came to realize the infinite switch had probably shorted out when the element broke. While looking for the part I came across an appliancepartspro video that showed me exactly how to replace the switch. I ordered the switch from applicancepartspros.com, which arrived in two days! I watched the video again while installing the part and had it done in less than 30 minutes. The hardest part was lining up the end caps as I put the stove...

Part Number: 5300W1R006A
This part is the radiant heater intended for use on ranges. This part is also referred to as a surface element. It supplies the heat required to cook food. This particular radiant heater is the largest element on the cooktop. In the event that the burner is not heating up, this part may need to be replaced as there could be an element that is burned out. It may begin to heat up but won't get hot enough to cook correctly. The cook may also notice that the element does not cook evenly. There could also be physical signs of damage. Be sure to unplug the range prior to attempting to repair or replace this part. This particular radiant heater is compatible with appliances manufactured by the LG brand. It is sold individually. This part comes straight from the manufacturer.

Refrigerator freezer was working but was not getting cold on the refrigerator side Tim W. • Sanford , NC • September 13, 2015
Replaced the defrost heater, Temp sensor, and defrost thermostat. I'm pretty sure the defrost heater was the only faulty part, but I replaced the other parts to be safe. Took me about 20 minutes start to finish. I know the defrost heater was bad because it failed the continuity test.
Parts were delivered within 3 days! This is the second time using Appliancepartspros.com and I will not go anywhere else.
Thank you!

The freezer section of an amana bci20tw was not getting cold enough and the back panel in the freezer was covered in ice Jeff H. • Gettysburg , PA • January 27, 2025
After doing some research, I guessed it was either a faulty defrost timer, defrost thermostat, defrost heater, or some combination of those. Using part location diagrams for my Amana BC120TW I started by looking for the evaporator coils since they obviously weren't producing enough cold. Upon removing the evaporator coil cover, I found the evaporator coils frozen into 1 solid block of ice. Using a heat gun, I carefully defrosted the coils so I could access the defrost thermostat and heater...

This radiant surface heating element restores proper burner performance on electric glass cooktops/ranges. It replaces a failed element so cookware heats evenly and reliably beneath the ceramic glass. What it does:
- Converts electrical energy into radiant heat under the glass-ceramic surface
- Replaces a burner that won't heat at all
- Helps resolve uneven heating or only part of the ring glowing
- Addresses visible damage such as hot spots, discoloration, or breaks in the element
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing; allow the cooktop to cool completely
- Lift and support the cooktop; handle the element carefully—it is fragile
- Note wire locations and move them one at a time to the new element; ensure terminals are fully seated
- Reinstall mounting clips/brackets so the element sits flat and clear of the glass before restoring power
