Neither the bake or broiler would work on my range. Neither element was damaged or blistered. After reading the descriptions or troubleshooting on Appliance Parts Pros, I determined that the control board had failed on my range. I ordered a replacement from Appliance Parts Pros and then watched the video on how to replace the part. It took approximately 15 minutes to replace. Everything went smoothly and simply. This is the third time I have used Appliance Parts Pros. First for a... Read more
Front console touch pad that houses control buttons and display for your range hood. Replace if cracked, broken, non-responsive, or display is damaged.
The only way to repair this problem is to replace the small control panel. Requires 10, 15 and 20 torx head drivers to remove the various screws that secure the hood stack cover, the plates securing the glass hood cover and then the master exhaust fan controls. Make sure the breaker to the hood is off before proceeding. Total time was about an hour but that included cleaning up all of the stainless steel and glass before putting it all back. Read more

After doing some research online, I saw that to have an appliance repair person come out to fix the touchpad, would cost us well over $500. Some people said they would charge $500 for the part alone. I did a search for the part using our model number and read the reviews on this site and thought we'd give it a try. It was a very easy repair--anyone could do it. You basically remove four side screws and then the screws behind the knobs. Once you pull the front away, there are 4 screws holding... Read more
This Electronic Control Board is the appliance's central control module. It interprets inputs from sensors and switches and directs power to motors, valves, heaters, and fans to run cycles reliably when the original board has failed.
After removing and testing the continuity for the heating element, then the thermostat, I wasn't sure what to check next. I chatted online, and Susan suggested the control board was the most likely problem. I'm only somewhat handy, so I was nervous when the part didn't arrive with instructions. All I needed was a screwdriver to removed the front panel of the dishwasher (and to lift the tabs on the plastic housing of the control board), and it's clearly labelled as to where to plug in each wire... This is a range control panel insert. This part fits over the top of the control panel and marks the burner control settings. Over time, the control setting markers on this part could wear off so that they can no longer be seen. If this is the case, the control panel insert can be replaced so that the correct settings can be used. If this part becomes discolored or otherwise worn in any way, the appliance owner may wish to replace it for cosmetic reasons. Unplug the oven unit from its power source prior to attempting to replace this part. The person performing the replacement may wish to wear gloves to protect the hands during this process. This part is compatible with electric ranges that are manufactured by the GE brand. It is a genuine OEM part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually.

After doing much research online, I found out that the Touchpad on the JennAir downdraft gas range JGS9900BDS is very prone to "breaking." All my neighbors who has this model has reported that the touchpad stopped responding after a few years. Replacing was fairly simple. 1. Turn off the electricity to the range at the breaker 2. Pull the range out by an inch or two 3. On each side of the control panel, remove the screws. 4. Open the oven door and remove the 4 hex screws under the control... Read more

Given that I had 14 house guests for a week, I tried calling a Maytag repair man to expedite the fix - unfortunately, he didn't have the part, but did identify the problem as a bad control panel. I ordered the part (#W10235721) from Appliance Part Pros (which was quick and easy) and received the right part the first time and very quickly. To replace the control panel, the Maytag guy said about $200 plus the part. If you have a torx screw driver set, you can do this repair in 15 minutes. ... Read more
