Kenmore dishwasher would not drain although the motor ran and sloshed water around as usual. Gregory J. • Albany , CA • June 20, 2022
I checked the drain hose for blocking at the garbage disposal and then at the connection point to the dishwasher. The hose was clear and nothing was obviously obstructing where the drain hose connects to the dishwasher. At this point I Googled the model number with the term "will not drain" and immediately landed on the AppliancePartsPros.com website. At the Drain & Wash Impeller Kit page amazingly had a video showing the technician replacing the impeller on a dishwasher essentially the same as...

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
The freezer door gasket was coming apart and wasn't sealing properly any more Leonard M. • Sunnyvale , CA • August 23, 2014
I ordered the replacement gasket and...replaced it.
One issue was that the replacement procedure was not at all like the video to which I was directed when I got the gasket. The video showed a gasket with a rigid flange that had to be inserted into the door structure. On my Amana, I clearly had to remove the inner plastic liner and set the gasket under it. This was not particularly difficult but certainly wasn't the same process.
Also, I removed the freezer door to do the replacement in...

There was a strong smell of mold coming from the door boot. Thomas H. • Netcong , NJ • June 12, 2022
I replaced the door boot with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. The most difficult part was starting at the back end of the new boot onto the stationary rim, just in front of the tub. And then anchoring it in place with the existing spring from the previous boot. To start the boot I had to hook the top edge of the boot, where the arrow tab is, onto the rectangular projection on the tub rim and then roll the rubber boot edge down around the tub rim and hope the rim was going into the...

Part Number: 5304507212
This refrigerator door gasket seals the fresh food compartment to keep cold air in and warm air out. A tight, pliable seal helps maintain temperature, reduce frost and energy use, and prevent moisture around the door.
- Creates an airtight seal between the fresh food door and cabinet
- Helps with issues like warm fridge section, condensation at the door, or doors not closing securely
- Can reduce frost or moisture buildup caused by air leaks
- Restores proper door alignment/seal if the old gasket is warped, torn, or hardened
What's included: One gray fresh food door gasket Installation notes:
- Unplug the appliance before starting
- Soften the new gasket by laying it flat at room temperature; warming with a hair dryer on low can help relax folds
- Remove the old gasket and press the new one fully into the retainer, working evenly around corners
- Check for even contact all around; adjust the door and use gentle heat to relax high spots for a tight seal

Very loud banging and shaking on spin cycle. Brent B. • Hudsonville , MI • April 20, 2020
I took apart the washer to find both of the weight balancers had broken in 2 and were banging around. They had also caused the boot seal to rip. I removed the broken weight balancers and replaced them along with a new boot seal. There was one small spot with the seal wasn't fully attached to the outer drum so I had to take it back apart to fix that minor error on my part. Otherwise, it was a fairly easy fix.

I had a leaky door gasket on my washer. Gillis B. • Pasedena , CA • May 30, 2023
First I watched the very, very helpful video (twice), then I planned out the job in regards to tools, work area, and access. I have stacked units of washer/dryer due to space restrictions and had to ask my son-in-law to help me lift the dryer of the washer once I had prepared the process by fabricating 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood to turn the dryer and then slide it out far enough were 2 people can lift it and then set it on some cribbing for easy handling. Disconnected the power, turned off the...

Error code oe each drain cycle would start and stop with faint squealing noises; not fully draining at end of cycle. Rhyne K. • Jensen Beach , FL • May 16, 2018
First determined drain discharge hose was clear. Turned of power to dishwasher. I did not find it necessary to remove the dishwasher. I simply removed the lower service panel at the floor and was able to easily remove the defective pump, unplug it, replace the small rubber check valve flapper before the pump inlet and reinstall the new pump assembly.
The dishwasher surprisingly cleans and runs quietly like new again although I found no excuse for the pump failure as it is well designed. Never...
