This is a flat insulator cover that sits over the waveguide opening inside the microwave cavity. It protects the magnetron's waveguide from food splatter and grease buildup while allowing microwave energy to pass through. Dishwasher had begun going through the cycles with not enough water in the chamber. Suspect was the water inlet valve. Checked the AppliancePartsPros video for this repair and ordered the valve from them.
