Power Strike Small Engine Start Switch Parts
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10853313
Genuine Whirlpool OEM moisture sensor bar for electric and gas dryers. Works with a second sensor strip to detect humity/moisture as clothes tumble past. The control board reads the signal to determine remaining moisture and ends the cycle automatically at the target dryness level — preventing over-drying and reducing energy use.
Common Failures
- Cycle ends too soon — clothes still damp
- Dryer won't shut off — runs continuously
- Error codes F:22 or F:26
- Inconsistent results — unpredictable dryness
- Bent, cracked, or detached bar
- Corrosion from dryer sheet chemicals

This lid switch is the washer's safety interlock. It detects when the lid is closed so the machine can agitate and spin, and cuts power when the lid is opened to stop operation and enhance user safety.
- Monitors lid position and allows agitation/spin only when the lid is closed
- Interrupts motor operation if the lid opens during a cycle
- Common failure symptoms: washer won't start or spin, fills but stalls, stops intermittently, or displays "lid open" alerts
- Restores proper cycle progression and safety shutoff when replaced
What's included: One lid switch Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water supply before servicing
- Access the switch from under the top panel/console per your model's procedure
- Release the old switch, move the harness to the new switch, and secure wiring away from moving parts
- Ensure the lid closes and actuates the switch before reassembly and test run

Direct drive motor coupling failed wouldn't agitate or spin Tim H. • Fort Collins , CO • October 18, 2014
Was set to pull the trigger on a new washer since this one was 10+ years old. Broke a $25 lid switch fumbling to get the washer open before I found the appliancepros video library. Once I got things apart the right way I was able to diagnose the problem in 5 minutes. Identified the $10 part needed. Got the $10 coupling and the $25 switch and had the washer working like new in 20 minutes. I'm pretty proud of myself.. not going to tell anyone about the $25 switch.

I accidentally stepped on the door of my Samsung dryer. The door is intact but brackets bent. Margaret C. • Tampa , FL • June 07, 2018
I am so blessed. I went online. Found the brackets. Watch the video for the brackets I chose. And lucky me. I did not have to pull the dishwasher out. The installer did not have it flush under the counter. So I was able to pull the dishwasher forward unhook the damage brackets and insert the new. Put the dishwasher back in. Two screws. Now the balanced and secure dishwasher washes better than ever and I did not have to pay an extraordinary fee for a repairman. I'm 68 and take care of a 72 year...

My husband and myself didn't agree on which part was the exact problem. He felt it was the valve. I felt it was the ignitor/ orifice. And we both agreed the Harness-Ignitor needed to be replaced.
