Drain Pump Parts

Replace the drain pump after watching a video demonstrating the process. The washing machine had run properly and emptied, so I was surprised how much water remained in the pipe after disconnecting the old pump. Plan on having 2-3 large towels underneath before removing it. The most difficult part (and most irritating) was replacing the intake and outtake hoses with the existing spring clamps. This was Kenmore front load washer made by LG. Model 796.41302610 First, AppliancePartsPros.com has been great. This is my fourth time using them. Staff, DIY comments, and videos are all very helpful. Always ended up with the right part and received next day. The machine made an odd noise on start-up. I ran diagnostics. Had a problem finding how to do diagnostics since the instructions in the manual were wrong. Found the correct process on YouTube. Needed to hold the spin and soil buttons... Read more

Checked and found drain pump was not working. Ordered new pump. Read more

Ordered the new pump, then had to drain the tub by hand with a transfer pump. Put the washer on its back after unplugging it. Disconnected the wires, removed the 3 bolts and removed the clamp from the hose and reinstalled the new pump. Read more

I drained the pump and removed coins etc from pump drain screen. This did not solve the problem, so I called Slagers, our local appliance store in Iowa City. The repair man came out two days later in the AM. He drained the pump again and checked the codes--he had to use our wireless internet because Sprint would not work from our house to determine the error code problem. He said it was the pump. Drilled a 4/1/4 inch hole in the front for regular cleaning access and went through the back. I did not remove the front of the unit because it is a stacked. Read more

I also noticed one of the two water recirculation outlets near the front door was no longer spraying water. When I took it all apart, I found that these two tub water recirculation outlets are both connected to the pump.. one was clogged. The impeller on the drain pump was no longer spinning with the motor.. looks like it was worn on the inside.. when I took the pump apart it was full of scale. I could have just ordered the motor...but I figured I would replace the entire assembly as I also... Read more

Checked catch filter and realized pump was gone. This is my 2nd time replacing a pump but 1st on machine. I have a cleaning business and my washer gets double the work. Pretty sure Clorox killed this pump. Have a wet vac, small star nut driver and help putting wire ring back on. That is hardest part. PARTS ALWAYS COME SUPER FAST FROM APPLIANCE PARTS PRO. Read more
