Popped the back control panel and checked where the power comes in. Had power. On the other side of that component there was no power. Found the problem. The hardest part was finding where they hid the model number. Up and under the back of the lid. Nice hiding place. Read more

I noticed my oven would suddenly stop heating during cooking, but the over lights and temp gauge would all appear to be working properly. You could bump the circuit board and it would resume heating, but eventually would stop heating again, which told me I had a short or a break in the solder on my circuit board. Installed a new touch pad/circuit board combination as recommended by Appliance Parts Pros. The water/ice control now works perfect. The touch pad was somewhat difficult to remove due to surface adhesive. Used a knife to loosen the touch pad so it could be pulled from the plastic panel. Residual adhesive also needed removal with a solvent such as mineral spirits, and Installing the new touch pad also required careful alignment to properly fit the mating plastic panel. Replaced touch pad. Did run into a little problem. the new pad flashed up a code PED000 apparently the pad had to be programmed using the code from the serial number plate. Whirlpool service was zero help said code didn't exist. Found instructions how to do it on line. Found it on Google by asking what does this code mean. I noticed something was wrong when the dishwasher no longer remembered the last cycle performed. After it finished, it would go to a default cycle. A couple of weeks ago, my husband said it wouldn't start. Then I noticed on subsequent washes, there was a high probability that it would hang at a random part of the wash cycle. I replaced the circuit board behind the pushbuttons. At first there was no change in the controls, then i remembered that the door needed to be closed for it to work. Yah! It works now. $119 parts and installed it myself vs. $450 for a new machine. Read more

Did some research via the internet and figured the problem was likely the moisture control board. Watched a video of the repair of a similar unit in order to locate the moisture control board. Used the chat feature with one of the Appliance Parts Pros to get a schematic of the dryer and advice about where to use the putty knife to release the springs for access to the board.
