I chose to replace both parts so I wouldn't have to go back into the freezer. I used only a screw driver, pliers and the gas lighter to heat the wire connector sleeves. I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. Our Amana electric oven stopped producing heat. The bake element would not get hot anymore. I pulled stove away from wall and unplugged it. Removed the oven racks for easier access and simply used a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the element to the back interior wall. After following troubleshooting steps on the website verified the heating element assembly needed replacing. Since I had to breakdown the entire unit to get to it took the time to clean lint, dust and other buildup from inside and replaced other fuses also. Ordered and replaced the heating element assembly, control thermistor, thermostat, and inlet thermal fuse. Very easy repair following the provided videos on the site. Read more

The upper element in the top oven burned out. This was likely due to sugary food that had gotten on the element when the food was moved in/out of the element. The element was coated in crusty, burned food and the element was cracked in six or so places. The oven is a Maytag Gemini double oven range. It even included tips on critical steps so the wires won't slip back inside the hole and save you from hours of possible mistake. Then I ordered the part. The heating element had a break in the heater coils, so I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I also replaced the thermal fusible link and thermostat switch because they were so cheap it just made sense to go ahead and do it while I was in there. I also cleaned every nook & cranny in the dryer, then cleaned out the vent piping- which was about 100% clogged.
