GE profile dryer shut off mid cycle Mark A. • Boynton Beach , FL • February 01, 2021
My first attempt was to replace the main board and then the thermistor, should have done this the other way around, turned out it was the thermistor, a pretty cheap part, dryer works great now. Repair requires removing the drum but overall not too difficult or time consuming.

Soap dispenser wouldn't close door kept falling down Graeme M. • Branford , CT • October 07, 2017
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then...

My maytag gas dryer would start and the the tumbler rotate but the igniter would not glow and flame not start .gil P. • Enumclaw , WA • March 29, 2015
The 2 sensors that sit on top of the flame tube work together. The Thrmst F should check closed, as should the Cutoff-TML, in order for power to flow to the ignitor. If the Cutoff is open, it is usually because the Thrmst-F did not open soon enough. The Thermst-F will cycle, closed to open, and repeat, however the Cutoff-HTML is a one time switch. If it opens it will not return to closed, and subsequently the ignitor will not glow.
Some professionals say that if one of these sensors fail, both...

Genuine Ge part

Part Number: WD12X10284
The Fill Cap Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This assembly includes the cap that covers the opening where rinse aid or other additives are poured into the dishwasher. It ensures that the additives are securely contained and properly dispensed during the wash cycles, contributing to effective cleaning and drying.
Over time, the fill cap assembly can become damaged due to regular use, exposure to cleaning agents, or accidental mishandling. A compromised fill cap can lead to leaks or improper dispensing of rinse aid, affecting the dishwasher's performance.
Symptoms of a bad fill cap assembly include:
- Rinse aid or additives leaking from the dispenser
- The cap not securing properly or coming off easily
- Improper dispensing of rinse aid
- Visible cracks or damage to the cap
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

The cap was long gone for the rinse agent dispenser [fill cap assembly] Jennifer B. • Pacifica , CA • July 31, 2014
Using your program, I loaded the info re my trusty old dishwasher (not ready to abandon over a cap) and you located the proper cap to replace my old one that has been lost for years. [don't ask how that happened in the first place!] I really didn't think you would have a part for an 18-20 year old dishwasher. After ordering the replacement cap, it arrived within a few days. I was so excited that I could fix this problem myself without calling an expensive repairman! I simply removed the part...

Latch would not open consistently on detergent dispenser James G. • Waxhaw , NC • January 12, 2015
Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle.

When starting my dryer the motor would power up and rotoe the drum and blower. F2 e3 error code on front load duet washer Mark M. • Saratoga Springs , NY • September 16, 2016
Replace the water temperature sensor and still had the error code. While I had the back of the machine open I ran the washer. I traced the black wires from the temperature sensor and wiggled them as the washer was running. At one zip tie every time i moved the wires the washer would stop running and the error code would flash. Sure enough, like many others posted, the vibration from the machine had split the wire. I spiced the wire back together and have not had a problem since.

E66 error code. Door open came on and dryer would not turn on at all other than display of error. Bruce H. • South Elgin , IL • March 15, 2014
I actually found a post from another brave soul who was willing to try to fix his, and had stated when he put the new limiter switch in, it fixed the problem.
Since the whole back of the dryer needs to come off to get to the burner, and the limiter switch is inexpensive it seemed like common sense to take this approach first. After all, you don't put a new engine in your car if all it needs is a new battery!
I also found posts that an overheating event could fry the main control board, and...

Cover detergent cup would not close or stay closed Michael G. • Wareham , MA • October 01, 2019
Although I ordered the latch, lever and a new cup and replace the original pieces the dispenser still did not close. On further inspection it turned out to be a small spring that had fallen out of place. Once the spring was reconnected the dispensing cover worked fine. I'm still happy that I replaced the entire assembly with new parts regardless. Discovering the loose spring took the most time.

Catastrophic failure of the dryer cycling thermostat in a maytag neptune super stack Richard M. • Cornish , NH • October 19, 2020
Through 15 years of vibration, the Cycling Thermostat evidently had degraded to the point where one electrical connection or more came loose and caused a short. There is also a possibility that the Bakelite section of the Dryer Cycling Thermostat body separated from the metal base, simultaneously exposing all four connections to a short. The thermostat literally exploded into chunks and dust. There was a heavy arcing and then, thankfully, the thermal fuse blew and shut down power to the short...
