Timer Control Knob Parts

Replaced the oven controller. This needed the only removal of six hex screws securing the back guard rear shield, two-wire plugs on the control unit, and four Phillips screws. All are easily accessible. Replaced plastic housing for $100. Recommend buying the whole assembly though. Cost a bit more but you would be done in 15min. When you just replace the housing, you have to disassemble the old one very carefully to reuse several parts that do not come with the housing. A lot of fragile plastics. Plus, make sure you have GooGone and 3M thin tape handy; you will absolutely need it. Again, buy the whole assembly and save time and headache. Read more

I would remove the knobs from the other switches to replace the timer one when it would break until all the knobs were broken. My wife kept blaming me for being a brute but i swear i was gentle when turning the knob. i ordered all new ones and guess what...the new knobs are reinforced with a metal ring to keep the plastic from splitting. guess it wasn't shear brute strength after all and just a inferior part.. I used a little too much 'elbow grease' trying to remove the knobs on my GE Stove trying to clean them. I thought they were metal, but they are plastic and I cracked the inside part on 3 of them. My Advantium worked fine except the clock and cooking instructions were dim and bounced in a circular pattern over the left side of the display.
