My Maytag dishwasher model # MDB7749AWM2 has a diagnosis routine where you push 'normal wash' then 'heated dry' three times in quick succession. This made the machine cycle through all the functions. This demonstrated to me that all systems functioned. So I came to the conclusion that it was only the lights/buttons that did not work, and I was right. So I ordered a new Panel Control. We updated a 'not so old' Biscuit GE Range to BLACK. Based on feedback found on the internet, I knew it was either the control panel or control board. Ordered both and it turns out I only needed to replace the control panel. Really easy fix. Turned off the power, unscrewed the top 6 screws to open up the control panel. Removed the cover and disconnected the ribbon cable. I googled the error code and symptoms my oven was exhibiting to determine the solution and which parts to order. I needed a new control panel and chose also to replace the overlay that shows on the front of the stove. I could have reused the old one because I turned out to be able to remove it without damaging it. I just kept it in case I damage the new one in the future. Initially thinking the thermal fuse was bad, I replaced it without doing my homework. It was actually the control panel. Ordered Wednesday night, in my hands Friday afternoon. The Knowledge Base at Appliance Parts Pro identified that this condition is caused by a faulty Control Panel. Appliance Parts Pros had the lowest price. Other vendors wanted as much as 2X more. I searched online for problems with that model. I found the appliance parts pros web site. It was the control board or the control panel. I ordered the control board. In 2 days it arrived and I put it in. That did not fix the problem. I then ordered the control panel. Again in 2 days it arrived and I installed it. That fixed it. I went online and printed out a return authorization for the control panel. I think the very liberal return policy of appliancepartspros is great! Read more

Changed the control board and keypad. An used keypad that was installed worked for a few days but was damaged by the control board. I would always change both parts at the same time with new replacements just in case. Read more

Unplug oven then remove 6 screws and back panel is off exposing 4 screws and 6 color coded wires. Replaced each from old to new, replaced screws and finished in 15 min. Applied the front cover of the control board in the kitchen prior to start so total time to working oven... 20 min including cleanup. Read more

I turned off power and unplugged the touch panel ribbon cable. After restoring power and closing the dishwasher, it started running a drain cycle--this suggested the issue was the touch panel. Replacing the panel was pretty simple. Remove 6 screws (need a torx) bit, unplug the ribbon cable, take off the control board and the handle, and then reattach the new touch panel. Used the model number on the side of the wash door to do an internet search for a "control panel". Got an immediate hit of the Appliance Parts Pros site. When I selected two required parts the web site confirmed that the parts I selected were correct tor the model number.
