I ordered the part (drain pump assy) from AppliancePartsPros.com and it was delivered to my house in 2 days. I called a friend to install it for me but....he never showed up. So I decided to do it myself. I watch the video that another Appliance Part customer suggested and it was extremely easy even for a seasoned woman as myself. It only took me about 20 minutes. Test load was perfect with no errors. This morning I'm on load 5 and still no issues. Thanks Appliance Parts hopefully I won't ever... Read more

First, water and electricity don't mix, so make sure to unplug your refrigerator before beginning this repair - it shouldn't take more than an hour, so you shouldn't have to worry about spoilage. My water dispenser began making a hissing sound from the back of the fridge when you pressed the dispenser. Upon inspection, I discovered the 1/4" feed line into the filter housing assembly had cracked. I ordered the 1/4" feed and 5/16" return lines, figuring to replace the return line while I was back... Flexible tube connecting the drain pump motor to the sump in your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, leaking, or damaged to restore proper water drainage.
It was a learning experience. First I turned off the power! I removed the lower kick plate, disconnected the drain hose and electrical connectors. Then removed the discharge pump and heat sensor then loosened the 4 hold down arms/clamps. Then I opened the door and pulled the base up from the inside. Now to remove and replace the Pump Motor. Then reverse the process. If I were to do again, I'd pull the dishwasher out and lay it on its back. Read more
Fix loud grinding or clicking noises during drain cycle. This washer drain pump removes water from the tub. Moderate DIY repair, typically 30-45 minutes.
18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. I took the front panel off and carefully listened while I ran a cycle and the loud sound sounded like it was coming from the drain pump. So I took off the drive belt and noticed that it was glazed and that there was belt material on the drain pump and tub transmission pulleys. I removed the drain pump and... Read more
Dishes coming out dirty or spotty? A clogged sump filter lets food particles recirculate. This filter traps debris for cleaner dishes. DIY install.
My daughter and I went to Youtube and found an extremely well presented video on how to clean our exact make and model of dishwasher. We live in a newly rented house, new to us, not new. The dishwasher was an unholy nightmare of filth, clogged filters, calcium deposits coating and blocking in literal heaps, discovered when taken apart. The miracle really was that the dishwasher cleaned at all. We cleaned and scraped everything thoroughly, the fine filter and the sump filter as well but decided... Read more

Internal drain hose routes water from the washer tub to the external drain. Replace if cracked, leaking, or damaged from constant use or obstructions.
I had previously replaced the transmission in my two year old Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. Overall it was in good shape but gets heavy use. That repair was approximately $200 and worked for several months. Recently it began leaking. At first I thought it was the tub-to-shaft seal. I replaced this part but it was still leaking. It turns out it was the simplest of things... The drain hose was not connected very well! I replaced the drain hose ($11 part) and while I was at it I... Read more

Fix a dishwasher that won't spray water or makes humming sounds. This circulation pump and motor assembly repair is lengthy but not difficult.
Dishwasher made a humming sound but no water was circulating around. Searching around, I decided that it was either the inlet valve or the pump/impeller. I started with the inlet valve since it’s an easier repair. It didn’t work, no problem, now I have a spare. I then changed the pump and motor assembly. When I got the old one out, the impeller was broken along with a crack in the plastic housing. The repair took about 3 hours following along with the video. The dishwasher now works like... Read more
Connects the washer tub to the drain pump for water drainage. Replace if cracked, leaking, or split. Installs between the tub outlet and pump inlet.
I replaced the hose between the tub and the pump. The clamp screws were quite rusted but I used a socket wrench on them since they have hex heads in addition to the screwdriver slot. If I had tried to use a screwdriver, I think it would have been difficult. I did not reuse the original clamps but replaced them with hardware store hose clamps. Read more
