The oven would not heat up but the broiler and stove top burners all worked so I replaced the igniter. The part arrived quicker than I expected - one day with regular shipping - and the repair also went much quicker than expected. After accessing the igniter I was able to unplug the plastic modular connection. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burner on my jen air pro range rusted out   Frank M. • Providence , RI • November 15, 2014

After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. It was an easy repair to swap out the new parts for the old, and the only tool necessary was a #2 phillips screw driver. The only difficulty was that although the cooktop pan appears symmetrical, the screw hole pattern on each side is different. I did... Read more

Bake Element
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 318601604

The Bake Element is an OEM component for Frigidaire wall ovens. It is an integrated heating coil that generates heat through electric resistance when powered. Located near the bottom of the oven cavity, the bake element facilitates heating for various cooking functions like baking, roasting, or warming. This element measures approximately 13 x 11 inches.

Symptoms of a bad bake element include:

  • Oven failing to reach or maintain desired cooking temperatures
  • Bake cycles taking excessively long periods of time
  • Hot or cold spots developing inside oven cavities
  • Error codes appearing related to upper heating issues

Causes can be cracks in ceramic sheathing allowing arcing, or mineral deposits coating coils over extended use impeding heat transfer.

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Top oven was not coming up to temp properly   William W. • Centerville , MA • January 10, 2019

First, I took an ohm reading across the elements and determined the bad one, which was failed, open circuit. (Zero continuity) I then replaced the lower heating element of the upper oven. Although the design of the oven and element make it appear that it will just drop down and slide out the front, this is not quite the case. There is not enough clearance for it to drop all the way down. You have to pull the entire double-oven unit out of the wall, separate the upper and lower halves a few... Read more

Oven Igniter
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 786324

The Oven Igniter is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. It is responsible for igniting the gas burner to produce heat, which is essential for baking and broiling. The igniter heats up to a high temperature and then sparks to ignite the gas, ensuring that the oven reaches and maintains the desired cooking temperature.

You should replace the oven igniter if it becomes faulty. Causes of a bad igniter can include electrical failures, wear and tear from regular use, or damage from exposure to high temperatures. A malfunctioning igniter can prevent the oven from heating properly or at all.

Symptoms of a bad oven igniter include:

  • The oven not heating up or taking longer than usual to reach the desired temperature
  • The igniter glowing but failing to ignite the gas burner
  • No visible glow from the igniter when the oven is turned on
  • The oven producing a clicking sound without igniting

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and some Kenmore models.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Little to no heat when broiling
  • Little to no heat when baking
  • Gas igniter glows, but will not light
  • Won't start

Replaced the igniter, Simple but there are several points to remember. TURN THE POWER OFF 1) remove the oven door or you will have a hard time reaching the back of the oven. Mine just lifted off. 2) The igniter tip is fragile put a drop cloth over the oven floor in case you drop it even after it is in its holder. 3) The drop cloth will catch screws too if you drop them so they won't fall into the oven. 4) The cable from the oven is very short even after pulling it out from the hole at the back.... My 18+ year old Jennair cooktop, PN CCG2520W was in need of a rebuild b/c of a welded venturi tube on the right front [RF] burner.
