The Control Knob is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool gas ranges. It is the manually operated rotary component that selects cooking features and temperature settings on the stovetop burners. Measures about 2 inches in diameter. For white order WP8273104. For biscuit order WP8273106.

Causes of a bad control knob include normal wear of internal components over extensive cooking cycles. Stripping or deterioration of the knurled gripping surface also reduces functionality.  

Symptoms of a failed control knob involve:

  • Difficulty in turning or fully engaging desired burners  
  • Loose, detached, or misaligned positioning on the control panel
  • Inaccurate burner selection leading to scorched pans or undercooked meals
