• Ice maker won't dispense ice

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. Replaced entire ice maker. A couple of important points. (1) The ice maker module does not include all parts. The door flap for example is not included. So save all plastic parts from the old unit including screws. The biggest installation problem was the power cable. There was little room on the side of the ice maker for the cable and connectors to fit. Make sure the connector that mates with the refrigerator cable is seated onto the plastic housing and does not stick out or dangle out.... Read more

I broke the ice bucket when the problem first started as I kept trying to get the ice out of the dispenser. I replaced the Icemaker Asembly in less than 5 minutes, 1 screw and that was that. Everything works great and my dispenser is back in action. I did have a repair man come out to correctly diagnose the issue as the parts were expensive and I wanted to make sure it was not a leak somewhere, but indeed the mechanism. I ordered a complete new bin with everything in it attached already. All I had to do was wash it and set it in the compartment on freezer door. Within a couple hours, I had ice again. Easy fix. Read more
