1) ordered new boiler element after searching for oven/stove model # online 2) unplugged oven 3) removed 2 screws holding element in place 4) pulled out the element and a length of wires attached to the element (enough that the wires wouldn't pull back into the hole after detached) 5) used needle-nosed pliers to detach wire clamps, noting which wire attached to which side of the old element 6) removed old element and its pieces from the bottom of oven 7) attached wires to new element,... First, I took an ohm reading across the elements and determined the bad one, which was failed, open circuit. (Zero continuity) I then replaced the lower heating element of the upper oven. Although the design of the oven and element make it appear that it will just drop down and slide out the front, this is not quite the case. Tried to put refrigerator in defrost mode and defrost would not initiate. Checked the bi-metal and heater, both tested good. Replaced the ADC board and refrigerator went in to defrost. problem solved. Read more

Turned off power supply. Removed two screws (near the oven door) holding the ceramic top. Slid the top forward, disengaged the two power supply cables, and removed one ground wire. Removed range top, and put on a flat surface. Unclamped two power supply wires, one ground wire and one thermocouple wire from the element. Unscrewed the bracket from the element, and remove the element from the range top. Remove the two clamps from the old element, and put them on the new element at the same... Read more

Unplugged range, removed back panel. Loosened plug block from range, unhooked wires from existing element, then sliced through insulation between element ends with sharp knife. Removed screws holding element ends then removed element. Inserted new element, screwed it in place, connected wires and replaced plug block. Vacuumed up fiberglass insulation dust and replaced back panel. Replaced plug then tested. Read more

Turn off the water to the ice maker. Unload the freezer and remove the freezer door so you have room to work. Remove the ice maker by removing 2 screws in the front then pull the unit toward the front and unplug the wiring connection. The pipe will now be exposed. Remove the flexible piece from the front of the pipe that directs the water flow to the ice cube tray. Remove the wire tie on the front of the pipe and peel off the insulation surrounding the pipe.
