Dryer Natural Gas Limiter
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP694424

If your dryer won't stay lit or shuts off after a few minutes, the gas limiter may be faulty. This regulator controls safe gas flow to the burner.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I needed to convert from lp to natural gas   Mark S. • Raleigh , NC • June 01, 2015

Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... The Broil Element is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool ranges. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Fridge would not defrost no error codes   Nathaniel C. • Marietta , GA • April 04, 2015

I have had the unfortunate problem of fixing this previously, so knew what to order. I ordered the defrost sensor and heater... and replaced both. Honestly, all I needed was the sensor I did and ohm test and got 0 on it... meaning it was bad, but just in case I replaced the heater. The fridge works great now, but I would suggest if this is your first time with this issue, remove the panel, unplug both sensors from the fridge, and do and ohm test while they are still in the fridge... and then... Ice buildup on evaporator coils blocking airflow? This defrost heater melts frost during cycles. Moderate DIY repair—allow overnight thaw time first.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator was building up ice on the evaporator to the point that it was interfering with the cooling fan   Louis R. • Corpus Christi , TX • May 14, 2016

I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up. The most time consuming part of the repair was waiting for the fridge to thaw out so that I could remove the cover. I disconnected the fridge the night before and placed a fan on low with the doors open so that it was thawed out when I awoke. It was easy to remove the evaporator cover once I removed all of the shelves. I took pics as i was... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Was not cooling food due to evaporator freeze up causing restricted airflow in magic chef rc202t refrigerator   Robert K. • Clifton , NJ • October 12, 2014

After removing the back cover in the freezer compartment with a Phillips screwdriver, I saw the evaporator coils completely iced up, which blocked all airflow. A hair dryer was used to completely melt the ice, which took about 15 minutes and filled up the drain pan almost to the top. A quick ohms check with a VOM showed the defrost heater elements were burned out. The wires for these elements are routed along the right side of the coils behind the cover lip, so after cutting a tie-wrap I... Read more

Oven Bake Element

Oven not heating or element burned out? This lower bake element restores bottom heat for even baking. Easy 5-minute DIY repair with basic tools.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Element burned out   James W. • Round Hill , VA • April 15, 2017

It only takes a screwdriver for this repair. Remove the two screws holding the old element, pull it out of the housing, making sure the wires attached to the element do not fall back into the housing when you unclip them. Once you reattach the wires, simply replace the two screws and the job is done. I could not reuse the old screws though since the old ones did not hold the tight (unit is 20 years old and they were simply stripped). I simply increased the thickness of the screws and the new... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dead 1970s GE stove heating elements   Kevin N. • Oakland , CA • August 09, 2019

Ordering the right part is the key. This is the element with 3 wire connectors NOT the usual kind with 2 prongs that slide in. Thank goodness this company carries these elements for old GE built-in stoves. I'm not super handy but replaced two in about 40 min. Make sure you save the old ceramic clamps. The three prongs of the element with connected wires need to fit completely in the ceramic grooves so the two sides can be clamped together. The new element comes with everything you need but...
