Microwave tripping breaker or won't start? A faulty door switch is often the cause. This safety switch detects door position. Moderate DIY repair.
Check fan operation and was OK. Everything else worked except when microwave was started for a cycle. I looked around on internet and found someone had trouble with the door switches. I started to check door switches and found one shorted. I replaced both lower door switches and it took care of problem. Read more
Microwave won't start or is completely dead? This fuse protects against electrical overload. Requires disassembly to access. Often replace with switches.
After doing some research the problem appeared to be the door safety switches. I ordered 3 new ones to replace all the original ones. Some minor disassembly of the microwave front was required to reach the fuse and switches. To reach the switches the control panel wires needed to be unplugged and the panel removed. After doing that replacing the switches was pretty strait forward. As of this comment the microwave has worked for 5 days without blowing the fuse so far. This has probably fixed the... Read more

I ordered a plate and support roller from you and it came within two days, unbelievable. My wife was very happy that now she could use her microwave again. The original plate broke. When it arrived I could not believe how well it was packed. You could have dropped it from the empire state bldg. in N Y and would not have broken. This is a vent damper door used in the microwave's exhaust system. It opens to allow steam and cooking fumes to vent outside and closes to prevent outside air from flowing back in. Replace this part if the damper is stuck open or closed, if you hear rattling from the vent area, or if you notice poor ventilation or backdrafts during cooking.
We bought a house with an over-the-range microwave, which just recirculated air into our house--not effective for smoky meals! We removed the microwave and cut a hole to send the exhaust out the back of the microwave (and out of our house), but realized we were missing this damper and frame that go on the back of the microwave for rear exhaust. The parts fit perfectly and now we can enjoy a smoke-free kitchen! Read more

This door release lever connects the push-button to the latch assembly inside the microwave. Replacing a worn lever restores smooth, reliable door opening so the button works on the first press.
It took a long time to determine the problem but eventually I discovered that the plastic bracket (latch hook) that held the three door-switches showed appreciable wear from repeated door openings and closings. This wear stopped the door from sealing properly and the door switch safety mechanism blew the line fuse. I replaced the worn bracket (AP6230612) as well as the plastic latch mechanism (AP4553585) on the door that engages this bracket (and of course the fuse too) and the microwave now... Read more

Replaced both the round stirring cover at inside top of microwave, as well as the rectangular waveguide cover on inside right of microwave. Both were showing signs of grease which was not easily removed by soap and water, however it was the stirring cover on the top which I noticed which had a black bb sized spot where it was most likely arching to. Best to replace both as each were not perfectly clean of baked on grease over time. Read more
