Microwave won't heat but runs normally? A failed magnetron is the likely cause. This part generates the microwaves that cook food. Moderate DIY repair.
My son told me that almost all the microwave ovens that came into the repair center he worked at, 15 years ago, had a defective magnetron. I ordered a magnetron, and sat back until one shipped. The one that came, the first time, was in a small factory cardboard box, which was in a large bubble-pak Fedex envelope; which didn't show any signs of abuse. Inside, however, the factory box was beat up. Removing the magnetron, I noticed that the socket, as well as its' pins, was bent, and loose in the... Read more
The Time Delay Fuse is an OEM part for LG microwaves. This fuse provides a safety mechanism by delaying the flow of electricity, protecting the microwave's electrical components from power surges and ensuring the appliance operates safely. It helps to prevent immediate damage in the event of a power surge or electrical fault, thus prolonging the lifespan of the microwave.
Over time, the time delay fuse can become damaged due to electrical surges, wear and tear, or faulty connections. If the fuse blows, it can disrupt the microwave’s ability to function correctly.
Symptoms of a bad time delay fuse include:
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

This is a micro switch that detects whether the microwave door is properly closed and latched. It is part of the safety interlock system that prevents the microwave from operating with the door open. Replace this switch if the microwave does not start when the door is shut, runs with the door open, blows a fuse when the door closes, or stops mid-cycle intermittently.
Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Came up with next control item upstream and tallied that item failure with percentages of successful repairs, (4 mins.) door safety switch. Since I had to change out the most likely of the 3 and since I was already was going to be into the switch panel I ordered all 3 and swapped them all out to cover my butt, as they were... Read more
Replaces a cracked, chipped, or broken glass turntable tray inside your microwave cavity. Typically damaged during cleaning or accidental impacts.

Fix a microwave that runs but won't heat with this high voltage diode. Converts AC to DC power for proper heating. Typical DIY repair in under 2 hours.
I am not an appliance repair man. I am a general surgeon. I went online and researched the problem. The consensus was that my magnetron and diode were the most likely culprits. To replace my microwave with a comparable model would have cost at least $800. The diode and magnetron cost around $170. I watched a few videos on YouTube demonstrating how to do the repair safely and I felt like I could do it. I ordered the parts on a Monday evening and had them Wednesday. The only difficult part of... Read more
Microwave won't start or runs only when door is pulled? Replace faulty door interlock switches. This 2-pack covers top and bottom switches. DIY repair.
First, it was going to cost $95 for an appliance guy just to look at it! I figured there would be an upcharge on the parts + labor on top of the $95, so I took a chance & decided my husband & I could fix it cheaper; we were right, but it was a 3 week process (luckily, we have another microwave in the basement we were able to use in the meantime). I googled the microwave model #, then price checked the same item I thought we needed; printed off the diagrams of the various microwave "systems" &... Read more
Microwave won't turn on or has no power? A blown fuse is often the cause. This safety component protects against electrical surges and short circuits.
I have a Jenn-Air microwave that didn't turn on and had no lights. It just stopped working completely. I unplugged the unit and had to remove the rear cover using a *security screw kit* that prevents people from opening the rear panel. Once opened, I removed the fuse and testing it with an OHM reader to determine that the fuse went bad. But I also had to determine why the fuse blew and noticed a sticky oily substance under the Capacitor. I used a rubber glove and needle nose pliers to... Read more

Fix a microwave that won't start or runs with the door open. This door interlock switch ensures safe operation by detecting when the door is fully closed.
This is a flat insulator cover that sits over the waveguide opening inside the microwave cavity. It protects the magnetron's waveguide from food splatter and grease buildup while allowing microwave energy to pass through. Replace this cover if it is burned, scorched, cracked, or has visible arcing marks, which can cause sparking during operation.
I tried getting this part from my knemore microwave on the Sears site. I chatted with someone, my part was backordered and when it finally came 2 months later it was wrong. So I am out shipping for that one. Then I went to Sears store and no one could help me. Couldn't even find the part on their sketches. They told me I had to go to Orange Park store which it miles away. I got on your site and was able to see the part and find it. You shipped it immediately. Great Service. Yeah. Thank You Read more
