Washer won't drain or spin? A failed water pump is often the cause. This pump circulates and drains water during wash cycles. DIY repair in 1-2 hours.
There was a loud noise from my washer during the drain cycle. (The washer seemed to drain just fine.) It was pretty easy to determine that the noise was coming from the drain pump. (Which for my washer is behind the front lower inspection panel on the right side front.) I inspected the outside of the pump for any physical damage and verified no issues with the pump or the mounts. Everything seemed ok. I then checked the drain pump filter(You will need something to catch water if you do... Read more

Fix a washer door that won't lock or stay closed during cycles. This door latch assembly secures the door and allows cycles to start. DIY repair.
Did lots of internet research. Narrowed problem down to three things - door lock latch, control unit, and motor control unit. Figured out how to run the diagnostic test program, which showed a F22 (door lock) error. Removed and ohm tested the door lock (pins 1 & 3). Found door lock latch to be defective. ordered new one and installed it. YouTube video helped a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SjU6k5bpSs So far, so good. Have only done a few loads. New door lock latch tested fine. Read more
Shock absorber mounts to the washer tub to dampen spin cycle vibrations. Replace if cracked, broken, or worn to restore stability and reduce noise.
We looked online at AppliancePartsPros.com under the symptoms and found it was most likely caused by the shocks. Of course there was a repair video showing how to replace all four shocks step by step, and there was a link for purchasing the four shocks at the bottom of the video. Our repair didn't go quite as quickly as on the video because we are novices, but we were able to do the repair ourselves and, once again, saved ourselves a ton of money! Now we have a very quiet washer and dryer again... Read more
Filters debris from water entering your washer and seals the hose connection. Replace if water fills slowly or screens are clogged. Confirm fit by model.
As a Mechanic, I did the common sense approach: INITIAL OBSERVATIONS & CHECKS: - Unplug Machine & check inlet water hose connections for leaks and signs of hose failure; - Remove back panel & inspect for water presence at all hose connections, pump, bottom of basket (bottom center of basket where the main motor, shaft bearing, and tub seal is located), dispensers, bottom of wash basket, water injector area, look everywhere where there is a hose connection and where water flows... - Inspect... Secures the door seal to your washer tub to prevent leaks. Replace if washer leaks from the door or clamp is damaged or missing. Confirm fit with your model.
Followed your video instructions. It was invaluable. The toughest part was getting the seal on the back of the drum. Your technician made it look very easy. Once that was on, the rest was pretty easy. The control panel on my Whirlpool Duet washer had a holding screw at the bottom center of it. It wasn't shown in the video, but it was easy to figure out. Replace the water temperature sensor and still had the error code. While I had the back of the machine open I ran the washer. I traced the black wires from the temperature sensor and wiggled them as the washer was running. At one zip tie every time i moved the wires the washer would stop running and the error code would flash. Sure enough, like many others posted, the vibration from the machine had split the wire. I spiced the wire back together and have not had a problem since. Read more
