Refrigerator stopped cooling or compressor won't start? The run capacitor provides electrical charge to keep the compressor motor running smoothly.
I have a Kitchen Aid side by side refrigerator/freezer which is 8 years old. One day it just stopped cooling. At first I was just going to junk it and purchase a new one. I tried to buy a new refigerator, but strangely none of the major stores had anything I wanted in stock. The earliest delivery date for a new unit was over a month away.
