I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it... Read more
Refrigerator stopped cooling or compressor won't start? The run capacitor provides electrical charge to keep the compressor motor running smoothly.
I have a Kitchen Aid side by side refrigerator/freezer which is 8 years old. One day it just stopped cooling. At first I was just going to junk it and purchase a new one. However, I took off the lower back cover and noticed the compressor was not running. I knew from experience that these compressors need a starter capacitor and relay and it is not uncommon for these parts to fail. I looked on the Internet for a video which showed how to remove the parts. I also found a video which showed how... Read more
Freezer icing up or not defrosting? This refrigerator defrost thermostat monitors evaporator coil temperature. DIY repair in 15-30 minutes with video.
Condenser was encased in solid block of ice due to automatic defrost not working. Replaced thermostat and ADC control board. Working fine now. Most tedious part was using a heat gun to melt all the ice off the condenser coils. You will need a couple small wire nuts to splice the new thermostat into the existing harness (they are not included). Service tech wanted over $400 to repair, fixed it myself for half that. Thanks ! Fridge won't maintain set temperature or cycles on and off? This thermostat regulates cooling. 30-minute DIY repair with video guide available.
The 20 year old unit still serves us well, looks good and has been kept in good repair. The condenser fan had stopped so I removed, cleaned and oiled that motor. The decision was made to make an upgrade to the evaporator motor and control units so that the appliance could reasonably be expected to have extended service life. The Ice maker module had been replaced 7 years ago. I ordered the parts and have made the upgrade for temperature controller and the defrost control. If you are in a... Read more
Replaces worn or broken door cam in your refrigerator. Lifts door during opening/closing to reduce hinge stress. Install if cam is cracked or damaged.
Replaced both sets of door cams on my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. The most important thing to know is that you DO NOT have to remove the doors from the refrigerator to replace BOTH sets of cams. You just have to remove the lower grill which is a snap fit (I also turned off the water and unplugged the unit). My fridge has an ice and water dispenser where the water and electrical lines go through the cams on the left side. Be sure to order the correct parts as the cam holes on the freezer side... Fixes ice buildup on freezer coils and warm fridge temps. This defrost timer regulates the automatic defrost cycle. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
A word of thanks to AppliancePartsPros - they delivered in one day. Ordered at 4PM CDT and received the part by noon the next day. Also, Alicia in the help department was able to locate an electrical diagram for my old freezer. This was essential for proper setup and her persistence in tracking down the diagram was top notch. Now on to my problem. One day I opened the freezer and found frost and thawing food. I attributed this to the door hitting an item in the freezer and not completely... Read more

Refrigerator runs warm or freezer not cooling properly? The condenser fan motor circulates air over the coils. DIY repair takes 15-60 minutes with basic tools.
After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. After connecting the clip plug and re-installing the back cover, I plugged the refrigerator in and checked the interior about 5 minutes after the repair. Everything has been... Read more

Loud noise or freezer warming up? This evaporator fan blade circulates cold air over coils. Simple DIY fix—most repairs done in under an hour.
The fridge is 20+ years old in a home we recently moved into. It sounded like a motor getting stuck on something or grinding weird... was hoping it wasn't something more serious. Found this site, clicked 'noisy' and got the replacement evaporator fan motor blade as well as the motor evaporator. Turned out I didn't really need to replace the fan blade, but since I had it and ours was old, figured I might as well put in the new parts. Followed the videos here, which were really helpful. Refrigerator light won't turn on or stays on constantly? A faulty light switch is likely the cause. This 15-minute DIY repair restores proper operation.
We had delayed repairing the problem because we received a price of more than $ 100 from a local appliance repairman. However, after viewing the view on the ApplianceParts Pro website, I saw what an easy repair it would be. After receiving the part from you, I had my son do the repair because I felt it would a good father - son bonding time. It was so easy and he was proud of his ability. Thanks for your excellent repair video and the excellent price. It costs less than $ 22 instead of more... Read more
Refrigerator not cooling or freezer warming up? A failed evaporator fan motor stops cold air circulation. DIY repair takes about 1 hour with basic tools.
Used U-Tube diagnostic clips to diagnose that most likely problem was a worn Evaporator Fan Motor which is located in the freezer back wall, located in the top third of the unit. I removed 6 hex head screws from the freezer's interior back panel that covers the evaporator coils. The cover is located in the lower 2/3s of the back wall. Removed all shelving. Also removed screws that held in shelf supports on one side of the freezer wall. I then removed the back panel. You may need to... Read more

Replaces broken or cracked endcaps that secure door shelf retainer bars. Snaps onto refrigerator door to hold shelves in place and prevent items from falling.
Submitted September 7, 2014 On my 1993 (mfg. date) Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, the shelf endcaps on the inside of the refrigerator door were broken. The endcaps (paired) are the plastic pieces that attach each shelf's horizontal metal strip to the door. The horizontal strip acts as a retainer to keep items from falling off the shelf. The refrigerator door contains 4 door shelves, thus 4 horizontal metal strips held in place by 8 plastic endcaps. Some of the original endcaps,... Read more
Water leaking from bottom of fridge? Cracked evaporator drip tray lets defrost water escape. Moderate DIY repair, about 45-60 minutes with our guide.
The drain pan (Tray-Evaporator Pan) was cracked in 2 places. We had to remove the front panel. Loosen the bracket that holds the water filter. Take off the back panel and disconnect the bracket that holds the selenoid. It was not necessary to unhook the water lines, just the bracket. It was not easy to remove the old pan and get the new one in, but holding the water filter, with the bracket intact, as far to the left side of the refrigerator as possible gave us the room to get the pan in. ...
