Fix F2 error codes and inaccurate oven temperatures by replacing a faulty temperature sensor. Simple 15-minute DIY repair with basic tools.
My mother's GE range was not coming up to full heat (very far from it), and I was hearing a lot of relay-clicking coming from the control board. The heating elements seemed good. I suspected the control board was faulty, but there was a chance that it might be the (*much* less expensive) temperature sensor, so I ordered both from AppliancePartsPros.com (which got the parts to me very fast) so I could try the T-sensor first. After removing the doors and the back panel of the oven, and taking out... Read more

VERY simple fix- you do not even have to pull the range out.. I ordered a new cooktop from Appliance parts Pros. The customer sales rep Alphonso was great and walked me through the general process. I could find no explicit instructions for the repair but I muddled my way through. The fix is simple on Kitchenaid/Whirpool slide in ranges. 1. I googled replacement glass and found that AppliancPartsPros.com had the full replacement glass unit. I was able to verify that the part I was ordering was compatible with my oven. On the website they showed the part and also a tutorial on replacing the glass unit. The repair seemed easy so I ordered the part. The part came quickly and was in... Read more
This is a cooling fan sensor board that monitors and controls the operation of the cooling fan in a range or oven. It helps regulate internal temperatures by signaling the fan to run during and after cooking to protect electronic components from overheating. Replace this board if the cooling fan does not turn on, runs continuously, or if you receive error codes related to the cooling fan or oven temperature regulation.
You will need a Philips screwdriver, nut driver, and star drivers for this repair. Cordless drill recommended. TURN OFF THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE STARTING!!! You'll need to disassemble the cord cap before pulling the unit. Take a picture to remember which wires are connected to which terminals. Placed a blanket on the floor for protection and mobility. Removed cooking racks and both doors, then pulled the oven, which is the hardest part to do alone. It's a heavy unit. Once on the blanket I... Read more

Tested the power to the unit by turning on the cooktop portion and saw that I had power to all of the burners. Turned the selector knob to broil and saw that the top element would heat up. I then turned off the breaker to the unit. I then decided to take out the baking element to do a continuity test. When I touched it, a 1.5 inch section fell out. Since that concluded my continuity test, I assumed I needed a baking element. After receiving the parts the NEXT DAY (amazingly great service... Read more
