Replaced it. It took over 4 months to get the part due to a lack of inventory. I initially ordered from another supplier who after several months sent an incorrect part. Shifted to AppliancePartsPros. They confirmed the inventory shortage and gave me a two-month delivery estimate. About a month into the wait, they provided an update. The next update was noticed. That the part had arrived and was being shipped. Part arrived on time. Correct part, well packed, took about a minute to unpack... Read more

I'm a 56 year old divorced woman. I started doing these kinds of repairs to save some money and honestly, to see if I could. So yes, if I can do it, it's not that tough to do. My microwave is built in above the stove - getting it down and back up was the hardest part of the job. An extra pair of strong hands really helps-for anybody, not just a 56 year old woman. The actual repair was pretty easy. Most likely problem was pretty obvious after a little research. Easy to take off cover, get... Read more
The Waveguide Cover is an OEM part for Whirlpool microwave ovens. This component serves as a protective cover for the waveguide, which is responsible for directing and distributing the microwave energy within the oven cavity.
Symptoms of a bad waveguide cover:
Causes of a faulty waveguide cover can include physical damage from impact or mishandling, exposure to excessive heat or moisture, or general wear and tear over time.
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore microwave oven models.
Ordered this part for my KA SS microwave and it was a perfect match. Removing the old cover was not that easy. It snaps in tight and I did not want to damage the SS top. The two fixed tabs go toward the back of the microwave and the two tabs with pinch pins go toward the door. You have to lower the end of the cover far enough to push something into the center arm of the tabs and release the pinch pins allowing the cover to drop down, then you pull toward the door and pull the tabs in the... Symptoms of a bad Magnetron include:
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.
Replacing a magnetron in my particular 9-year-old microwave (a microwave/hood combination) was not a simple “plug & play” operation. That is why I am placing this in the slightly difficult area. First, it takes 2 people to remove the microwave from the top of the stove. Next the main outer panel need to be removed. After that, 2 sheet metal panels need to be removed in order to expose the high voltage components for testing. Always discharge the high voltage capacitor first before doing... Read more
This turntable support ring sits beneath the microwave's glass tray and lets it roll smoothly during cooking. Replacing a worn or damaged ring restores stable rotation for more even heating and prevents tray wobble or binding.
I removed the Shaft by just pulling up on it. I noticed the flat sided hole on the bottom of the Shaft was damaged and a small piece of it was missing. By using a mirror and a pair of tweezers, I was able to remove the small broken off piece of plastic from the hole in the middle of the bottom of the oven. The Shaft still would not turn the plate because of the damage. I ordered the new part and installed it, and everything now works fine. I decided to replace the Ring as well because the... Read more
The Diode is an OEM part for Whirlpool microwaves. This part convers AC power to DC power to ensure proper operation of the magnetron, which generates the microwaves for cooking.
Causes of a bad diode can include electrical surges, wear and tear over time, or damage due to excessive heat.
Symptoms of a bad diode include:
Replaced Magnetron and diode. Fixed problem and microwave workso again. Very time consuming because of microwave/oven built-in combo. Not easy to get to parts that needed to be replaced. Still cheaper to repair than to replace. Read more

This line fuse protects the appliance's incoming power circuit by opening if an overload or short occurs. Replacing a blown fuse can help restore power once the underlying issue is corrected, preventing further damage to sensitive components.
Tested the High Voltage Capacitor which showing no capacitance and no resistance. Replaced it together with the diode and the line fuse no longer blew and the microwave is back in service. Read more
This magnetron capacitor is the microwave high-voltage capacitor that helps supply the magnetron with the pulse of energy needed to produce heat. Replacing a failing capacitor restores normal heating performance and reduces arcing or loud humming. What it does
I ordered a new magnetron and a new capacitor and after they arrived I set to work. I took plenty of pictures with my phone to remind me how the components came apart but it was pretty straight forward. Once the new parts were in and everything was reassembled the microwave worked good as new. The repair was less than a third the cost of replacement and no special tools are required. Just be careful to discharge the capacitor. This website is a great resource. Read more
