I ordered the tub seal and stem seal kits along with the much needed spanner wrench. After viewing the video online several times and taking notes along the way I was ready to tackle the repair. After taking everything apart, I cleaned all areas thoroughly then addressed the rusty areas and mineral deposits found in the tub. I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. I took the cover off the transmission and determined that the only possible knocking had to be coming from the yoke. I ordered a new yoke and all the tub seals needed to put it back together like new. I also ordered a new drive pulley bearing because this bearing is always turning whenever the washer is used. I replaced the hose between the tub and the pump. The clamp screws were quite rusted but I used a socket wrench on them since they have hex heads in addition to the screwdriver slot. If I had tried to use a screwdriver, I think it would have been difficult. I did not reuse the original clamps but replaced them with hardware store hose clamps. Read more

Replaced the pressure switch which only took about 15 minutes ,was a very simple operation. tube air was backordered till 10/16/15 so checked it and found it with gunk in it ,so cleaned it out and washer works fine. can cancel tube air as i will not need now thanks for information on what part to order was very helpful Read more

One day my wife went to bake something and the bake/broil buttons as well as #3, #9, and oven light ceased to work. Local repair guy came by and wanted to charge $500 to fix it....YEAH RIGHT! Did a little homework and found this website, spoke with knowledgable staff who pointed me in the right direction. Removed the front panel and removed the screw from the console which revealed a broken plastic tab on the right side of the old injector. Replaced the old injector with the new one and that took care of the problem. Read more
