• Exhaust fan not working

Replacing this filter was very easy: two screws hold in the grill cover at the top of the microwave, and then the filter just slides in and out of its holder. There was quite a bit of grease in the area, probably pulled there by the vent from the stove top. I cleaned the grease up and also hand-washed the wire-mesh filter on the bottom of the microwave with soap and warm water. Airflow when running the vent is now noticeably better. Read more

You're going to need a phillips screwdriver, star driver, small screwdriver and needle nose pliers. You need to remove the ONE Phillips screw above the control panel inside the vent. Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Came up with next control item upstream and tallied that item failure with percentages of successful repairs, (4 mins.) door safety switch. In order to get the bulb screw base out of the socket I had to remove the bottom metal panel and remove the the bulb base. Once I removed the socket, I noticed that the one of the electrical solderless connectors was corroded and burned. I replaced the connector, socket, and bulb. Works great now. Read more

When Microwaving food, the display panel would seem to act normal, but the typical microwave sound would be absent. No microwave action would occur. Eventually an F5 code would display. Problem was the upper door switch. Found it by opening up the cabinet, removing the display panel (1 screw and a couple of plugs) and testing all three micro switched with a meter.
