Replaced wheel assembly because prongs were broken and replaced track because wheel assemblies were rolling out from the track when extended. Read more

First went through the troubleshooting guide on the website and read the various stories and watched the repair videos for replacing the springs and suspension pads. Then before ordering any parts disassembled the machine only to the point of removing the cabinet to see if there were any obvious issues. While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out. A common problem with this dishwasher. When disassembling the upper basket, some of the gray plastic pieces were very brittle and easily snapped off. I did not know how to remove the broken spray arm so when I muscled it out, the spray arm base broke. We ordered the replacement parts from appliance parts pros and received them within 2 days. I looked online to find out how to remove the spray arm base. I removed it be unscrewing the base, screwing the replacement base, and then snapping in the new spray arm. We tested the dishwasher and it worked just like it was new. Another new task learned and completed!! Read more

Ordered the parts and followed the instruction videos that Sears provide, Initially tried to order parts from Sears directly but the web-page kept complaining about my shipping address. Their loss- no wonder they're going out of business. Also, should note that the original assembly was plastic but the replacement was metal. Sure sign of a crappy cost-cutting decision.
