Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud noise when washer was in a drain cycle   Robert G. • Clayton , NC • January 03, 2016

There was a loud noise from my washer during the drain cycle. (The washer seemed to drain just fine.) It was pretty easy to determine that the noise was coming from the drain pump. (Which for my washer is behind the front lower inspection panel on the right side front.) I inspected the outside of the pump for any physical damage and verified no issues with the pump or the mounts. Everything seemed ok. I then checked the drain pump filter(You will need something to catch water if you do... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Whirlpool duet washer kept stopping at random times with no error codes   Joseph L. • Hawthorne , CA • April 17, 2015

Did lots of internet research. Narrowed problem down to three things - door lock latch, control unit, and motor control unit. Figured out how to run the diagnostic test program, which showed a F22 (door lock) error. Removed and ohm tested the door lock (pins 1 & 3). Found door lock latch to be defective. ordered new one and installed it. YouTube video helped a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SjU6k5bpSs So far, so good. Have only done a few loads. New door lock latch tested fine. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our whirlpool duet washer was very noisy during spin cycles   Linda M. • Kiel , WI • September 25, 2014

We looked online at AppliancePartsPros.com under the symptoms and found it was most likely caused by the shocks. Of course there was a repair video showing how to replace all four shocks step by step, and there was a link for purchasing the four shocks at the bottom of the video. Our repair didn't go quite as quickly as on the video because we are novices, but we were able to do the repair ourselves and, once again, saved ourselves a ton of money! Now we have a very quiet washer and dryer again... Read more

As a Mechanic, I did the common sense approach: INITIAL OBSERVATIONS & CHECKS: - Unplug Machine & check inlet water hose connections for leaks and signs of hose failure; - Remove back panel & inspect for water presence at all hose connections, pump, bottom of basket (bottom center of basket where the main motor, shaft bearing, and tub seal is located), dispensers, bottom of wash basket, water injector area, look everywhere where there is a hose connection and where water flows... - Inspect... Followed your video instructions. It was invaluable. The toughest part was getting the seal on the back of the drum. Your technician made it look very easy. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You F2 e3 error code on front load duet washer   Mark M. • Saratoga Springs , NY • September 16, 2016

Replace the water temperature sensor and still had the error code. While I had the back of the machine open I ran the washer. I traced the black wires from the temperature sensor and wiggled them as the washer was running. At one zip tie every time i moved the wires the washer would stop running and the error code would flash. Sure enough, like many others posted, the vibration from the machine had split the wire. I spiced the wire back together and have not had a problem since. Read more
