The temperature sensor is an electronic probe that monitors internal appliance temperature and reports it to the control so it can regulate operation. Replacing a failed sensor restores more accurate temperatures and can clear temperature-related error codes. What it does:

Senses internal temperature via resistance changes and sends the signal to the electronic control
Helps the control reach and maintain the set temperature during operation
Common failure symptoms: too hot/cold, won't reach set temp, long/short cycles, temperature error codes
Can cause preheat to stall or the unit to shut off early (model dependent)
