This is an engine zone control cable, also known as a control cable, manufactured by Husqvarna. This component stops the blade when a lawn mower handle is released. When this part goes bad, it can cause the brake not to release even when the handle is pressed down. Engine zone control cables are known for experiencing wear and tear with regular use. If the cable has any signs of damage, cracking, wear, or stretching, it will need to be replaced. First, disconnect the spark plug wire before releasing the cables from the handle. Next, remove the drive cover before removing the engine zone control cable. The replacement engine zone cable can be connected to the transmission and the drive cover can be replaced. Install the control cable back onto the mower handle, reconnect the spark plug wire, and the lawn mower will be usable again. This is a genuine OEM replacement part that comes directly from the manufacturer. It can be used for mowers from Husqvarna, Weed Eater, AYP, Craftsman, RedMax, Poulan, Poulan Pro, Jonsered, and McCulloch. It is sold individually, and the replacement is considered easy. A screwdriver and pliers are the only tools that will be needed.
