Kevin E Aurora , OH July 01, 2022 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Dryer WGD8200YW1 The machine was making a loud “chirping” sound and taking a long time to dry cloths I purchased a repair kit recommended for the noise issue which included a belt that did not fit my dryer. So I also purchased a drum belt specifically for my Dryer which was still cheaper than purchasing the parts individually. The repair was easy (the hardest part was compressing the metal clips that held the top on (the video wasn’t very descriptive). Replaced the drum rollers, drum belt and drum belt idler pulley (which, I believe was the part making the noise). Putting the machine back together, I noticed the front drum seal was bad and ordered an new one which came in two days. Again, the repair was quite simple. Put the machine back together and it works fine. No noise and the drying time was reduced by the seal replacement. If I had ordered the drum seal at the same time as the rest of the parts, the repair would have taken about 2-1/2 to 3 hours. James L Harrisburg , PA May 02, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer WED7300XW0 Dryer was making a loud squeaking/scraping sound Ordered the rollers, idler pulley, belt kit. Disassembled dryer after receiving parts. Found idler pulley had a 1/4" deep grove worn in it from the belt and was evidently scraping on something. Also, the rear felt seal on drum had come off and drum was scraping on cabinet. Got some hi-temp adhesive and re-installed felt seal. Replaced the 4 drum rollers and clips, idler pulley and clip and belt. Hardest part was getting belt back on motor and idler pulleys. Not much room to work. Vacuumed out inside of dryer. Had to buy different belt than supplied with kit, but still cheaper than buying all the parts separately. Now have a quiet running dryer. This was a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer. Pros repair video was very helpful. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers
