Cooktop burners not heating? A blown thermal fuse cuts power to prevent overheating. Test for continuity and replace to restore heating function.
Local appliance repair outfits wanted an extortionate amount of money to do this repair. So, after checking on topic threads online to diagnose the problem, we disassembled the cooktop and extracted the bad parts. We then did an online search for those parts. Not sure which fuse might be bad, I ordered all three. The oven is almost twenty years old, so I figured it couldn't hurt to replace them all. The breakers marked oven were tripped, so we figured everything was off. Wrong! The 220 and the 120 are separate breakers. We found this out the old fashioned way, we got shocked.
