The Push to Start Switch is an OEM component designed for Whirlpool electric dryers. Located on the control panel, the start switch initiates and stops each drying cycle upon button depression. Its electronic components coordinate power to the drum motor and other functions.

Causes can involve normal wear over thousands of uses wearing out integrated circuits and connections. Water intrusion may lead to early failure.
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore dryer models.
I troubleshot it by looking at the wiring diagram I found under the control panel. I suspected the door switch. I watched a video on how to replace it which helped me get access to it and test it with a multimeter. I watched a video on the push to start switch. Testing it was a little vague. So, I ordered that part. I found in the comments a guy who did the same and then after replacing the part and it still didn't work replaced the thermal fuse.
