Timothy S Canton , GA June 21, 2014 Tab holding the bin drawer lid broke I ordered this part and replaced it myself. The photo confirmed I had the correct part. I removed the crisper drawers and all (took 1 minute) and couldn't figure out how to remove this part. Some of the notes claimed there were screws holding it on but that is not correct. One of the large tabs on this part is what keeps this part in place. It's the large tab just slightly to the rear of center. Press it and lift up and the part comes right out. You have to remove the crisper slider from the old one, a sliding mechanism that it attaches to and then another part that slides to that one that connects at the end of this part that runs along the back of the inside of the fridge. It's really all rather obvious when you look at it. No tools necessary. No screws at all. The most difficult part is figuring out which tab to release to remove the end cap. There are only a couple possibilities on the part and you only need to release one. So if you choose one and it doesn't work then move to the next one. From start to finish, it won't take you but a few minutes. It may be extended should you feel the need to clean up old spills like I did. I took the other end cap off exactly the same way and cleaned an old fruit juice spill that had been bugging me for over a year. All in all this was a very easy and quick job. As I said above - NO tools an NO screws or other hardware. Read More... 50 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
Christopher K Alexandria , VA July 19, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Refrigerator KFCS22EVMS3 Due to bad door seal ice built up in bottom of freezer water then leaking out Door gasket was easy to remove and reinstall. Original gasket was penetrated while cleaning food stuff from folds in the seal below the frig doors. (Gasket is very fragile so don't try to expand the folds while cleaning. I used my finger and a paper towel but in hindsight should have used a Q-Tip. Also, when installing the new gasket you have to be sure the seam folds over the edge of the door and doesn't get caught underneath. John B Arlington Heights , IL February 09, 2016 The tiny peg on the right side that holds the slide out drawer cover broke off The peg on the left side END CAP broke a number of years ago. This is an easy repair. Just make sure you don't break any of the plastic parts during the repair. The right side has the further complication that the temperature control slide for the drawer must be moved from the old END CAP to the new END CAP.
